So, the food gets transported from other countries the food prices increases every day. Many people in the country are poverty that means that they can’t buy enough food to feed themselves because it is too expensive. The second hungriest country in the world is Haiti. Some problem it faces that leads to hunger is 80 percent of people live in poverty. Most of their natural resources were destroyed by hurricanes, floods, and tropical storms.
Chad’s population of 11,227,208 people and an estimated 54 percent of chad’s peoples are living under the Poverty line. Many people in chad are living without clean water, food, electricity, homes, a decent education, also, medical help. Poverty in chad is very harsh and widespread. This poverty has been caused by many things in Africa. Some of these things may date back to the period were slaves were being transported throughout the world, and things that could have been recent.
Malnutrition is by far the largest contributor to child humanity. Most child birth death occurs in Asia and Sub Saharan Africa. Catching disease such as Malaria and tuberculosis can extend. Malaria growth is 1.3% in some developing nations. Poor people spend greater portion of their budgets on food as a result, poor house hold can be particularly vulnerable to increase in food prices.
The world should be pulling their resources together because the way the drought is affecting the Eastern Africa’s people is killing them. Reasonable one can not live in conditions where there is minimal food and water. People need to get their basic needs to survive and Eastern Africa is far from the ideal place to do so due to drought. The Eastern Africa people have limited crops which are mostly failing due to lack of water, little cattle herds due to the hot conditions and poor ground to feed on ,while the rest of the world has the resources to provide large-scale relief (Stewart, 2011). This is a big issue because on a global scale we are letting Eastern Africa’s people suffer when there is no need of it.
Some Sierra Leone citizens have begun importing foreign rice due to higher prices in Sierra Leone which lowers the incomes of farmers. Due to the war many farm families were displaced and their farms were no longer operational. This led to a shortage in food which increased the price, making it unaffordable for many. Due to these issue faced in the agriculture sector of post war Sierra Leone many of there citizens have succumbed to poverty and has resulted in Sierra Leone becoming the eight most impoverished country in the world.
