The rise of the planet of the Apes is a movie that is led by a scientist named Will Rodman. Will Rodman discovers a treatment that is tested on apes to gain human intelligence but decides to try and see if it would work for Alzheimer’s disease. During this treatment, Will see’s that the apes have enhanced problem-solving skills and some skills of a young child. During Will Rodman’s presentation to the Board on the treatment, one ape escapes, attempting to kill all the people in the room. The board decides to pull the funding for the project, believing that the ape is aggressive and not knowing that she was just trying to protect her baby. Therefore, this leads all the apes to be put down. After discovering a baby ape, Will’s colleague is not able to inject the baby ape to kill him, leaving Will to decide on what to do. It has been shown that African Americans double their chances of getting Alzheimer’s as older whites, and Hispanics are still at higher risk to get Alzheimer’s as older whites.
