The first day the hunter goes out into the woods will become a memory they will value the rest of their lives because of all the positive benefits that come with hunting. The animal population grows every day, reducing the overpopulation remains one of the major benefits of hunting wildlife. Also, hunting provides families that live in areas that can hunt to supply food for their families. When thinking of the word hunting, many people associate a gun and a dead animal, but the hunter does not compare those items to the sport. The description of hunting that many hunters may agree to includes sitting in the woods waiting for an animal to appear and loading the gun as fast as the hunter can so he/she can shoot the animal. The hunter can go out into the woods and bond with nature during specific times of the year. Deer and bear hunting season usually occurs in the fall and winter months. During this time, voices of opposition come out and speak their minds on the topic of why hunting should be banned. These organizations want to ban the sport because of the pain and suffering the animals
If the people would review more informational data on the population of the wildlife their opinions may change drastically based on hunting wildlife. The negative attitudes towards the sport focus on the welfare of the animals and the abuse that they have to endure without a choice. Many people approve of hunting as long as the hunter does not use certain techniques such as baiting to their advantage. Max Mills states “The hunting population is decreasing rapidly; the elderly make up the largest part of the connoisseurs (Mills).” After the larger part of the population passes, the tradition of hunting and bonding with the wildlife will decline.
