Life is like a wild car chase. You either have to jump out of the building or get caught by the evil and vile monsters. When you picture something like this happening you probably think about an awesome action movie that you have watched. Sometimes life is like an action movie, but if you don’t take risks, then something bad or depressing will swallow you whole. If you never try anything fun or exciting, your life will be nothing but a hole of desolation. It is better to take risks and make mistakes than to never risk anything at all because if you never took risks you would always regret missed opportunities, never accomplish your goals, and overlook large rewards. Anyone who is willing to take a risk will never regret missing some of the most rewarding opportunities. About 50 years ago, when my grandma was about my age, she auditioned for a solo her chorus class. However, she was very afraid, but she went to audition either way. She got the only solo of the whole chorus concert. In other words, if she hadn’t have gone she would have never gotten in. For this reason alone taking risks should seem more enticing. Think about a time when taking a healthy risk was an option. Whether you did or did not take that risk, picture what reward would have come out of it if you would have taken it. A famous author once said, “To risk nothing would be foolish and result in little reward, but to risk everything shows true passion and intelligence.” This year I wanted to try out for something in Chorus called “Belle Musique”, but I was to scared so I didn’t go for it. Nothing happened for me. My teacher told me later that week that I have a pretty voice and that I should have tried out, but now I didn’t have the chance. I did not get a reward for doing nothing.
