Advances in technology and science have created the impossible outcomes onto possibilities no one has done or seen before. Thanks to modern day science and technology, the possibility of cloning humans can soon become a reality. According to Merriam-Webster Dictionary, the definition of a clone is a cell product that is genetically identical to the unit or individual form which it was derived. Cloning has been discovered recently in today’s science research with the popularity of the first successful cloning mammal in 1996, the cloning of Dolly the Sheep. With Dolly being a success and other mammals such as pigs and dogs have been successfully cloned throughout the years, there are now debates whether or not cloning should be done on humans. It is one thing when animals are involve in cloning experiments, but attempting to clone a love one and being successful at it is still unheard of even in today’ science and technology, furthermore if cloning a human was successful there would still be a high risk he or she would have physical and anatomy abnormalities. There have been numerous experiments done on animals where their anatomy has been altered due to cloning, “offspring are created with disproportionally large organs, has respiratory problems… a cow’s right ventricle was enlarged and had oversized lungs” (Dinc 241). Everything that has gone wrong in cloning animals, scientists have the same fear when it comes to cloning humans. It would not be ethically right to clone someone’s deceased father, sister or brother with physical abnormalities outcomes such as an oversize head or skeletal problems throughout the body.
