Well they should for a variety of reasons ranging from prevention of gun violence at schools, to minimalizing the spread of drugs on school property. Lockers have been home to guns and drugs for the past decades, and if locker searches became a practice, the weapons and drugs found in lockers could be seized before any harm is done.

Drugs are distributed around high schools in masses by the day. Students have been caught buying and selling drugs, but that only skims the surface of the number of drugs stored in students' lockers. This shows that large quantities of drugs are slipping into schools right under administrations noses, and locker searches could help reduce the percentage of students who abuse these illicit substances. Locker searches could prevent students from purchasing drugs by finding the drugs in students' lockers before they can be sold or used by that said student, and in turn that could help reduce the overall sale of drugs in high schools by scaring the students who have
