Today is the future that many have dreamt of. Despite all the advancements that have been made, this world still lacks key progression that is necessary to keep the human race moving forward. Choosing between the Iphone and the Galaxy becomes a must have opinion, while supporting the idea that abortion is sometimes necessary becomes too modern. Abortion is a very controversial topic, but will indirectly impact society as a whole. To increase women’s rights to her body, to decrease the emotional distress that rape puts on female victims, and to protect the health of not only the baby but also the mother, abortion should remain legal in California considering that children should not be brought up in a world where their needs are not provided for.
Women have absolute control over their own bodies and outside input from bystanders should not determine the life she has to live. After the passing of Roe v. Wade, the amount of deaths from abortions, mostly illegal, have almost disappeared (Grazer, 1997). Legal abortion reduces deaths of females and protects the health of the mother. Every female matters and should have the right to terminate dangerous pregnancies. An obstetrician-gynecologist, Richard Hausknecht, states that abortions have become safer than penicillin shots (Grazer, 1997). With the access to safe abortions, women no longer have to risk their life or their baby’s life. Abortions make it possible for parents to prevent cases where mothers have the fetus die inside the womb, further preventing infections that could occur from the dead fetus.
