Recommended: Impact of global warming on health

“Climate change is no longer some far-off problem; it is happening here, it is happening now.” - Obama. Everyone can agree, climate change is a huge issue affecting all of us and not many people are doing anything to stop it. Even major politicians admit that there is a massive problem occuring. Although many people do not believe in global warming, there are many studies proving that climate change is an issue because of fluctuating weather patterns, wildlife becoming extinct, and environmental suffering.

It is true that many people think that our weather is not changing; however, our weather is in fact changing for the worst. Scientist around the world can conclude that ”Over the past 30 years there has been a pattern of increasingly …show more content…

Many sources state that,“The planet is warming, from North Pole to South Pole. Since 1906, the global average surface temperature has increased between 1.1 and 1.6 degrees Fahrenheit”( effects of global warming, National geographic). Since there is scientific evidence that proves our temperatures are constantly rising, we now know that these increased temperatures will lead to hotter summers and colder winters which will in turn change our planet and our eco system for the worse. Along with the increased temperatures changing our environment, it is changing how we live our lives and how our daily lives work. Since the temperatures are becoming increasingly more hot,“The cryosphere – the frozen water on Earth – is melting. A warmer atmosphere causes the planet's snowpack, glaciers and sea and freshwater ice to melt rapidly. Melting glaciers and polar ice sheets contribute to unprecedented sea level rise. Melting sea ice exposes darker ocean waters, which absorb more sunlight than ice – heating the ocean more and speeding up a relentless cycle of melting and heating”(how climate change plunders the planet, EDF). Since the earth is becoming warmer within the following years, all of our polar ice caps would melt which will cause the oceans to rise causing mass destruction and death around the world and, Many places will be uninhabitable because they'll be underwater. Along with the rising sea levels, if these ice caps melt most of the earth's clean water will disappear because much of our water comes from those ice caps. Even if people do disagree about our climate changing, their is proof all around us that our environment is becoming more and more unstable and not many people are doing anything about
