I have always put people before myself when it comes to my actions and to my feelings. I have always wanted to understand what other people are going through and how I can help that. I soon discovered that I also had a love for our country’s criminal justice system. I figured that if I can start out in the one place where individuals need the most help that I could make the greatest impact. My love for people, science, and justice turned out to help create not only the perfect major but the perfect career for me. My love for people has guided me into a path that not only wants to help other but to watch them become even greater people. For the past six years, I have bought numerous presents for DSS children in my community. I have even gotten the opportunity to see the looks on their faces when they get the Christmas the never thought they would have. I also tutor middle school children in math. With these degrees, I will be able to attend Physicians Assistants school in Columbia. There I will complete a two-year program and at its closure, I will be a certified Physicians Assistant(PA) who will specialize in the psychiatric aspect of this growing and high demanding field. I plan to use my new obtain skills in my own state’s prison system. Many prisons only have one doctor and then a few nurses to assist the thousands of inmates that occupy the prison. By having a PA it alleviates the work of the doctor because they are able to do much more than a nurse. By having the psychiatric concentration they are also able to help the few psychologist that also work in the prison. I know that by being in this field, I will be able to help so many people that may have been overlooked in their own communities.
