Grandma Doodlebug
Everyone knows someone special. To me, my grandma means everything. Never have I ever met a more selfless and loving person, and I probably never will. As my teacher and confidant, she fills my favorite memories. I must thank her for influencing me in so many positive ways. My Grandma Doodlebug genuinely makes the world a better place. For as long as I can remember, my grandma has preached to me about the Lord. Though I am not a very religious person, my grandma’s teachings always showed me her passion, acting as the best person she possibly can. When she tells me about her favorite verses out of the Bible, she always gives me new insight as to why we should love everyone and not just the people we want. My grandma views the world in a way many people can not see; do not hold a grudge, always forgive, always learn from your experiences, and always trust in the Lord. She always gives and never expects anything in return. My grandma only ever asks for a thank you. In this way, she showed me true generosity and gratitude.

When a person says no one knows what he has until he has lost it, they are right. I realized this very abruptly the day my mother told me my grandma had breast cancer. My mother began crying and confessed her fear of a world without my grandma and her mother. Until that day, I avoided imagining my life without my grandma. I did not want this unavoidable reality. My grandma not only takes on the role the most selfless person I know, but also the bravest. If she had fear, I never knew. She held her faith through everything and even had a bit of humor about it.
