A Lesson Learned As I think about my life when I was younger, I remember when I was fifteen years’ old. I lived in the house with my aunt Valerie, who raised me from a newborn baby, because my mother, Carolyn was in and out of jail and on drugs. My aunt would tell me about the boys and how they only wanted to get in my pants. Of course, I didn’t listen to her warnings all I wanted to do was have fun with my friends. At fifteen who wants to hear all the negative things being drilled in their head about boys? I remember as weeks and months went by I started sneaking out to enjoy times with my friends. I jumped through windows, snuck through sliding doors, and even played sleep until my aunt would fall asleep for the night. That’s when I found myself doing things that was not normal for a teenager. I began partying, having sex, and giving birth. At fifteen all teenagers have experienced the life of partying and all the effects. I have experienced some of them like clubbing, drinking and not giving my education my full attention. For most, fifteen-year-old teens like to be the life of the party, but for me, I had the opportunity to embrace life from a different aspect. I love my children above everything but I want them to face life from a different angle. I have taught all my children that the things that are important in their lives should come first. Even though all teenagers drift off the schedule life has a way of bring them back. There is a place and a time for partying, sexual activities, and giving birth for all individuals. My motto, “stay focused and gain everything life has to offer.” Follow the instruction from adults in charge will give them a better start in growing
