The practice interview was by far the best feedback I have ever had! In this one short thirty-minute interview I was able to learn so much about myself. There is so much apprehension that proceeds with interviewing regardless the type. My initial thought of having to go on an actual practice interview was nonessential and of course this supposition was inaccurate.
My overall experience was significant and exceedingly meaningful. My initial thought as I sat down in the chair was how nervous I was. I was actually sweating this was a good indication that though this was a practice interview it was crucial that I took it seriously and I did. The very first nonverbal communication was eye contact. During the interviewer the interviewer very seldom lost eye contact. Upon entering the room and starting the interview the interviewer did not extend her hand so that we could handshake. Even though she was sitting at her desk she was still leaning in which showed that she was engaged in what I had to offer. She would also smile and nod when I spoke about certain situations. She also waited until the end of my interview until she evaluated me instead of doing that as we spoke. The verbal communication that was demonstrated by the interview was open questioning. She would ask question that would intentionally allow me to elaborate on them. She was effectively and actively listening because she would either ask another question that would allow me to expound on my answer or she would compliment my answer. When she spoke she used a pleasant tone. She also used written communication to convey the results of my interview. She was advising when she reviewed my resume critiqued it and added suggestions. I thought that the practice interview is extremely pertinent especially for students who will eventually be searching for jobs. I believe that this assignment allows students to get in the mindset of how serious interviews are. I also believe that this opens the door for students to learn about the other aspects that career services offers other than practice interviews such as helping students perfect their resume. The practice interview truly gives students the ideal interview that they will eventually experience once they start interviewing for jobs closer to their field of study. The practice interview helps reduce stress and anxiety. The constructive feedback is also preeminent they help familiarize some of the questions that may be asked in future interviews and help with responses. It also helps identify weakness that can be tweaked and perfected. Overall the practice interview should be required for future students because it builds the ability to perform well and boost
...it gave me the opportunity to see what was out there in terms of HR staffing. I think that when people think of HR they think of a cubical at an office remotely placed somewhere. This is not the case. HR has many settings whether it is the corner store or the corporate office. Through this exercise I saw firsthand what HR was all about. It is about setting the example and staying motivated for the staff. I also discovered that money is not everything. In any job the money can’t be everything, you have to find rewards through other avenues; avenues such watching employees move up or customers leaving with a smile. HR gives you great flexibility and has many different settings to work in. I choose to interview a store manager because I am hoping to get to that position in the near future. This was a great experience for me and I learned a lot through this activity.
Although my group was not able have the second interview with Sheraton Suites Hotel, I was able to gain a lot of knowledge about a different company. I learned much about an extremely popular lodging franchise (Motel 6 and Studio 6) and from that I can enlighten people around me that next time I am traveling and pass one of them. Like I said before, I was not very familiar
My favorite part of the day was a woman thanked us over and over for relieving her sore tooth. It had a gapping wipe hole in it. We were able to see the pulp of her tooth. She has so much missing tooth structure, we had to extract the tooth. It's a real skill to be able to be a dentist, because it's as much of an art as it is a science. I look forward to being in that position and having that doctor patient
Although the experience was nerve-racking, I believe that I did a very good job. I was able to collect the majority of the information that she was telling me while asking follow up questions. However, it was more to balance than I had expected. It was difficult asking questions and attempting to record enough information to complete my assignment. As the conversation continued, I got interested in her life stories and professional examples and noticed I had stopped taking notes. I also felt the need to make constant eye contact to show I was alert and aware of what she was saying, which brought challenges to my note taking. This interview process made me feel excited for the future. It was an intriguing opportunity to know that one day I will be able to positively impact lives the way Fultz does. To improve my interview skills, I would ask if I could record the conversation. This will allow me to interact more with the health professional while also consuming a maximum amount of information. I wish I had thought about recording this conversation prior to the interview, because Fultz spoke beautifully about her passion as a social worker, and I wish I was able to directly quote her in this
The employment interview has been the key element used for determining a candidates’ worthiness in filling an open position. Organizations rely on employment interviews as a way to predict the future job performance and work-related personality traits of interviewees. Over the years validity of the employment interview has been under scrutiny, so it is no wonder that is has been the topic of many research papers. The definition of the employment interview is “a personally interactive process of one or more people asking questions orally to another person and evaluating the answers for the purpose of determining the qualifications of that person in order to make employment decisions” (Levashina, Hartwell, Morgeson, and Campion 2013, p. 243).
I conducted an interview about what it is like to be a RN. I find doing Informational interviews very useful to see what someone experance in the field that i might want to go into. I know that there are different nursing fields to explore with my RN degree. I feel that with a informational interview you get to see hear first hand someones experiance in different fields.

Nonverbal communication occurs before verbal communication and can also affect it and that is why it is just as important on first dates. It plays a role in the outcome of the date and reduced uncertainty produces positive nonverbal communication and therefore the possibility of another encounter increases.
In short, I could say that my past week has been terribly wonderful. I was able to schedule 2 more interviews, one for last Thursday and the other for the next Tuesday. I had been preparing for the interview on Thursday in Richardson. It was a truly rewarding experience as the doctor was amicable and explained new concepts about internal medicine that could not be expressed over Google searches. Overall, the first research interview was nerve-wracking but well worth the preparation as I gained new insight into the field.
My interview actually went really well. I do like some things that I did for this interview but I also dislike some of the things I did and there are many changes I wish I had done now that the actual interview is now over. I found myself critiquing myself while listening to the recording and transcribing what I said. Overall, yes, I did get the main ideas of her opinions but I didn’t ask very good questions and I also made a couple rookie mistakes when doing this interview. I did the reading before the interview, and I read the interview material once more after the interview and I found myself not doing some of the things that the reading said to do.

...th the patient I kept thinking that if this were my mother how would I want the nurse to treat her. I tried to behave in the way I would expect a nurse to treat me. I had preconceived notions before meeting the patient and they were all laid to rest almost immediately, honestly I was nervous. But once I started it began to feel comfortable and the interview just flowed naturally.
When we were first given this assignment I had not put much consideration into it. I thought we were to ask a couple of questions, it would all work itself out and I would be done. But this was not the case. The thought and reflection put into interview questions really surprised me. There was far more factors other than the questions you were asking, because you were also dealing with people, people who are giving you there free time, their attention and opening themselves up to you a stranger, so there were far more responsibilities then what were initially at hand.
I prepared a questionnaire and included all the relevant questions as stated in the assignment. I was fortunate to get a prompt reply with a narrative description. A phone interview was scheduled on September 23rd to fill in the gaps of the questionnaire which help me in articulating the details for the questionnaire. Since I already had a questionnaire completed by the manager, I was able to formulate more questions based on the questionnaire. This made my note-taking using MS OneNote easy and aided me in preparing the content for this
This video mock interview was a great experience. The questions were based on interview questions that a company can ask you and prepared you for a real interview. This mock interview was fun to do and taught me many lessons I can do in a real interview setting. To start off, I had to prepare for this mock interview. Some things I considered when preparing was to firstly, look at the questions and briefly go over my answers for each question. After that, I had to wear my best attire and adjust my camera and lighting. Lastly, I had to remind myself with some tips when doing this interview.
