You are probably wondering how I got my internship since I have no experience in the wine field and don't have a background in the wine business or fermentation science. Here is how I went from an agriculture econ student with a slight interest in wine to obtaining an internship months later. This just goes to show that with persistence anyone can strive towards their dreams and make things happen.
My Background
I'm an Applied Economic Management, International Trade & Development major who has no experience working at a winery or anything having to do with grapes. The only knowledge I have comes from the book I have read and the Geography of Wine class I am currently taking from Virginia Tech. Reading about wine is what got me interested in the industry and all it has to offer my future.

I knew that since I was under 21 it would be hard to get a paid internship while competing against college students above 21 with more applicable majors. I knew that meant I needed to live at home and not be Charlottesville, VA paying rent while making no income. I decided to zero in on the wineries I had researched that were within an hour or less of my house. I found a couple but there was one that stuck out to me that had a structured internship program, Grayhaven Winery. I nervously called the winery, and I was able to speak to the owner about their program. It was nerve-racking sitting in my driveway talking to someone who could make or break my summer with one phone call. That is me being overdramatic, I just didn't want her to say no because I really wanted to work there. She seemed interested to hear from me so we set a date to meet. Internships provide students with opportunities to apply theoretical and basic knowledge gained in the classroom. During the field placement period, the agency supervisor becomes the primary teacher, aside from the clients, in the student's day-to-day learning. The supervisor is responsible for coordinates the student's overall experience by helping the student integrate the various pieces of the Field Internship. However, to make the placement, a positive experience supervisor need to be aware of student’s strengths, and learning needs to match assignments accordingly.
I am excited to join the Honors College for a number of reasons. One of the most significant reasons is that I am dedicated to bettering myself and my education over these next few years. I have no doubt that ensuring a solid education at WVU’s Honors College will assist in paving the road for a successful future. By challenging myself academically and dedicating myself to my studies, I will gain the essential skills and training necessary to help others as I move forward with my career. Also, being surrounded by others who have the same level of motivation and who maintain high standards of conduct as myself is unquestionably something that I will look forward to when joining the Honors College.
As I mentioned before, I was not sure what to expect going in. It was very overwhelming at first, but I am so glad that I was able to meet with the people that I did. This was especially great for me because I ran into one of my childhood friends who I haven’t seen in many years. Red liquid sweet but bitter, the taste leaves the drinker wanting more. It's been a long hard week, and waiting at home for you is a nice bottle of red wine from one of the best local wineries. Wine has been around since about 6600 BC; and slowly but surely it grew to become one of the most money making industry in Sonoma County, wine itself. When looking and hearing at economic growth or impact, the main topics that are talked about are climate change, college, or even sports. Little do we know that wine has had impacted the growth in Sonoma County. Throughout this paper we will be looking at the history of wine, and the impact of wine in Sonoma county.

Wine was a royal drink that kings use to drink, it was extracted from Vineyards. One of the oldest-known winery was discovered in the "Areni-1" cave in “Vayots Dzor”, Armenia. Since then wine was flourished all across the world. From a local consumption Wine became an International trading commodity.
Before the internship, I thought judges were of course humans, but I was hoping they were nice. I thought it was going to be a bit intimidating, but I knew I looked up and aspired their profession. It was like the day I was going to meet my judge I was so nervous, yet I looked forward to it. I remember I was surprised different Judges would run their courtrooms differently. I thought they would kind of have a similar system for things, which they sort of do, but not completely. Generally speaking, the Judges are great individuals and are very unique. Most of the Judges have lived pretty interesting lives and seem to enjoy their jobs. The Judges seem to be very knowledgeable, and very considerate of the Jury, court reporters, and their clerks. The judges of course seem neutral when in front of the jury as expected. For example, Judge Lippitt, does not allow anytime to speak over each other in her court room she is always saying that they have to be respectful there is a human being recording this, referring to the court reporter. Then, she is very considerate of the Jury and their time, she will tell them the trial is longer at times to make them happy if it ends early. Further, Judge Lippitt really cares about the jury instructions and that they are as neutral as possible. Something I have learned from Judge Lippitt, is that you have to be very careful as a judge to notice when attorney’s are acting a little suspicious. Another very significant lesson I have learned from Judge Lippitt is that preparedness and awareness is really important.
This paper focuses on the personal experiences gained from the internship while supporting the functions of Human Resources (HR) at the University of Texas at El Paso. The HR department provides a variety of services to all Staff, Faculty and Student employees. Throughout the internship, knowledge and skills have been obtained in the specific area of employment and recruitment. This research exhibits that internships can be an important strategy in the efforts toward job search for both students, as well as for employers looking to hire valuable employees. As defined by InternNE.com, an internship is any carefully monitored service or work experience that may be evaluated for educational credit in which an intern or student establishes learning goals and reflects on his or her learning experience in relation to achievement of the stated goals. Internships should first be examined that, when implemented at fullest potential, these opportunities can provide companies and students with a competitive edge in today’s business world. Subsequently, it can be shown that internships assist organizations and companies with temporary or seasonal project and task completion. Lastly, internships will be clarified as to how they allow students to gain valuable experience before entering the workforce. From reviewing an ample amount of research, internships are beneficial and advantageous to the success of a young student, as well as companies.
My internship experience this semester was interesting. I interned at ESH/MESH with Bridgeway. My Supervisor was Emilie Banz. I didn’t do much but I did learn a lot from this experience. I met a lot of great people and watch PsyR in action. I met a couple of individuals who were really cool. My experience this semester has prepared me for the next.

Students are recruited from the schools of pharmacy via short advertisement displayed as a Power Point during a required class for first-year and second-year students. Interested students will be required to submit a resume along with the personal statement to the internship program director. Pharmacy students who express their interest in research pharmacy will be invited for an interview with the program director.
