For my type of ISTJ, the strengths of my type that perhaps i am not good at social communicate, but I can pay attention to all the details and things intentions, I am ensure that i have a strongly felt internal sense of duty and loyal, faithful, and dependable. Also In the eyes of others, i am more quiet and alone even so boring but i think i can prove that i have ability to do the best and be acceptable due to responsible and this is what i regard as important. However, the core weakness that is i have less scrupulous individuals take advantage of.
The major areas of my values and ethics can be summarized in six words: excellence, personal integrity, responsibility, ambition, accountability, and determination. Excellence guides me when setting targets in all my undertakings; I normally strive to achieve my best. Personal integrity and accountability enable me to make sound judgments to avoid engaging in actions that will hurt me and/or other people around me. Responsibility is important to me as it enables me to identify the part I need to play in my family, at the workplace, and in the community. Lastly, ambition and determination are applicable in providing me with the momentum needed to ensure that all my initiatives and tasks are done to completion.
As I reflect back on my leadership experiences I believe that I have always tried to take initiative and get things done. I believe that I am always understanding of what other people have going on in their lives and I talk to them like a person and am very considerate. I try my hardest to be proficient at what I do and help others if they are lost. Lastly, I make a point to provide direction to the group, plan ahead, set goals, try to identify problems and come up with solutions. I believe a leader should always encourage the team to reach team goals as effectively as possible, through building relationships and inspiring their team members.
However, I have learned that different people bring value to the company. I must look beyond my own personality to see the value of other gifts and talents. We are all part of God’s design and each have different gifts and talents that were given to us by God (Romans 12:6-8, ESV). As a leader, it is my responsibility to know the people who work for me and to work with them, rather than demand things be a certain way. Fischer (2012) stated, “we can be encouraged that everything we do within an organizational context—indeed in life itself—has eternal meaning and consequence.
I learned a lot from someone who was a good role model and was passionate about teaching. These are just a couple of examples in which I was put on both sides of the spectrum. I know what it takes to BE a leader, and I also know what it’s like to be on a team WITH a leader. I’ve learned from good and bad experiences of leadership, which is something I wouldn’t trade for the world. – I believe that a true leader sees it through until the end, and demonstrates the important qualities of commitment and dedication while also inspiring others to do the same.
Conclusion I believe that everyone's beliefs affect his or her leadership style to some extent. For instance, I feel that if the people that I am leading are working hard then as a leader I should be working just as hard as they are working. In addition, since I place such a high value on honesty and respect, I know as a leader that I must give the same to my followers to receive it back. In addition, since I am a saver as a leader I will be mindful of using company resources and will expect the same of my followers. Lastly, as a person I am non-judgmental, I will be the same with my followers as I will not judge them based on thing that I do not have control over such as lifestyle and their beliefs.
Because my presence is such a big impact, it is important to recognize it and use the influence in a manner that promotes a good work environment. Always be conscious of my impact and use it purposefully to model and nurture the type of behaviors I want to see in my organization (Farrell et al. (2011). Setting the tone for others to follow. I will lead by setting an example and channel staff to the direction I would like them to follow.
I understand there are risk factors involved, effort, time and dedication required but it is unavoidable to retain the position in industry. As you are aware at the end of every project, we make sure that we conduct ‘lessons learnt’ and ‘success stories or our best practices’ sessions which always help us to improve the overall process in terms of acquiring the correct information and making sure that organization in moving in the correct path. 6. I will try my very best one hundred percent of the time to be as reliable as possible and this is true with in all aspects of my life and not just in a professional role. I am a constant person as I like to have things done in a certain order and have a set routine. However this aspect also plays into one of my weaknesses as a manager. I am resistant to change and can have a tendency to be somewhat nearsighted in regards to any particular task at hand. There are a number of things that I personally need to improve upon in order to become a truly successful manager, however for the purposes of this essay the number one key concept that will enable my further development in the workplace is to become a more goal orientated person.
