Historical developments has shown that early Christians had suffered much for their religious convictions. The first few hundred years of the early church were dominated by what is now called classical premillennialism: that Christ returns to reestablish God’s rule on earth…The numerous persecutions of Christians during the first three centuries confirmed for many that the end times were near, that the return of Christ would be the only hope for vindication of the martyrs and the witness they bore. (Yong, 34). Christian worship in the first century was very different from the experience than most Christian experience today. However, throughout the history of Christianity there has been reports of charismata and other phenomena.
