The time between Augustus’s rule and the death of Marcus Aurelius, the last of the “Five Good Emperors,” was known as the Pax Romana or Roman Peace. The Pax Romana was the time period when everything in Rome, such as economy, Roman life, system of government, and peace between other countries were stable. Due to this people often refer to it as Rome’s Golden Age because of it resembling a time of peace and prosperity. Although, I do agree with others, that Rome’s Golden Age would be a suitable name for this time period, I think that the Pax Romana is more appropriate.
