Employers should look for early signs of stress in their employees to keep them in good health and working with good performance. Employees should use all forms of problem-faced coping in order to keep their stress under control so that it does not affect their job performance. There are many way available for the employer and the employee to keep performance high, like in Paul Keller’s case. Paul Keller is obviously stressed and distracted. His mind is wondering while he is supposed to be doing a job that is very timely based. After identifying that he is under stress, distracted and that it is affecting his job, Keller should look into individual cognitive techniques in order to manage his stress. These techniques are relaxation, biofeedback and mediation. He needs to establish which techniques works best for him and keep his stress manageable because employers are …show more content…

He could explain to her that he is under pressure at work and he is distracted and it is risking his job. He could explain that having disagreements with her is causing him lack of sleep and affecting the performance of his work. Then, he could explain that he is seeking help on how to cope with all of the stress and request that she also help him manage his stress so that he can get the better job and be home with her more often. Keller should be sent to a professional counselor and moved positions. Demoting him is going to add stress to the situation and cause more problems than it would solve. I believe that Keller’s boss should explain that the distractions and lack of performance is going to cause issues within the high pressure position that he is currently in and explain that the new position is temporary.
