In “Overcoming Culture Clash Among Diverse Residents” (2013), David M. Bendoff discuss about the problems between Americans and the immigrants because of the cultural and language barrier between them. Bendoff’s argument was that the immigrants are too busy building their life and working hard to raise their family, they have very little time to learn English language and adapt to a new culture. Since they cannot read the declaration and rules written in the English language and they are new to American culture, the immigrants do not understand, so they follow the rules that they had in their native country. The solution that he offers to clear up this conflict between the Natives and the immigrants was not just to encourage them to learn English, but our community should provide “multilingual resources” so that they understand all the rules and the regulations. Bendoff also talks about how some immigrants are desperately trying to accept the American culture which cause them to have an attitude that create a revelry between the residents. To paraphrase, peoples who move to the America have same attitudes, beliefs and behaviors with those who use to be around them, and they left their culture because they like American culture more. American culture value being self reliant independent person. I think we need to understand that the immigrants are not familiar with American culture, and they create problems in the community. When I first come to the United States of America, I was so confused about the American culture. I made a lot of mistakes because I did not understand the rules and regulations. It was okay to drink anywhere I want in my country, but here I got arrested for drinking outside the liquor
