The school time takes up a countless hours of a students life. Schooling can take the same amount of time as a job, not including the homework and projects. Like many jobs school should have a break to relax and take some time for themselves, or friends. Students would have a break to then refocus on the up coming classes and not lose interest half way through the day. The open campus lunch policy would have many benefits for the students. The student body is not a perfectly oiled machine. The real picture of a student body is semi oiled and rough around the edges. Every student would enjoy a break from constant lectures and class work to recuperate and focus. An open lunch policy would help immensely with the previously given points. …show more content…

The student can now have a mental break. Lunch is a period of time not meant to be crowded with friends, food, school work, and everything else. It is a break to relax and do what the student would like to. Students can have extra time to eat now. The typical lunch period currently is around thirty minutes. Humans were not built to wait in a line to then devour food before having to leave. With an open campus lunch period the student can have some extra time to eat. Students can have a meet together or eat at a certain place together. Also students can choose varied foods, allowing them to have what is appetizing to them at that time. Or if the student want to leave school but not spend money they can eat or cook at home. Allowing the family to save money by not having to pay for school lunches. One process could be only allowing students in good standing to be allowed off campus. If the students is not allowed to play in extra curricular then why should they be allowed to leave for an open lunch. Along with the students in good standings, check attendance after the lunch. If a students does not return after they have left for their lunch revoke the privilege for some time. Even just a week can prove to a student the importance of responsibility to return on time, very similar to a work place. Or if that plan does not work allow the students parents to chose wether the student can leave for open lunch, or is restricted to the school grounds. And possibly have the student or parent pay for a off campus lunch pass, similar to the parking passes currently being used. Even just having an age restriction only allowing upper class man to leave, as they are more likely to be responsible with their time and have better time management then the younger students. Although rules can be made, the time is much needed for a student to drive and get food. One solution to this problem would be to cut out seminar. Many students don't use seminar time wisely, or at all. So letting the time be used in a lunch scenario would help all students, and still allow the students needing help to get help after school. With all options laid out
