Ocean Pollution is Destroying the World We are constantly polluting the ocean never realizing the harm that it does. Pollution is creating an environment impossible to live in. Why should animals suffer at our expense? The ocean used to be the most beautiful place in the world, filled with life and color, but now it has turned into a trash filled monstrosity. We are constantly putting more and more trash into the ocean making marine animals live in our filth. We must end pollution to save our world, and save species from extinction. Pollution is destroying the world, it is harming animals, destroying habitats, and disturbing ecosystems. Pollution is taking over the ocean and harming animals. Everyday we dump more and more trash into the ocean. Whether it is plastic bottles or a chip bag they can all harm marine animals. Every year about 8 million tons of plastic make their way into the ocean. It may not seem like there is lots of trash, but only 5% of trash is on the surface, the other 95% is in the water. Pollution is ruining animals’ homes and killing them and once the population of one animal decreases, the ecosystem has a problem. When one animal dies then its prey will start to multiply, and the animal’s predator will not have enough food and they will start to die as well. As the trash increases the fish decrease, According to Nicholas Mallos “At this rate, we would expect nearly one ton of plastic for every three tons of fish in our oceans by 2025 — an unthinkable number with drastic economic and environmental consequences.” Sometimes pollution can cause plants to die because of oil spills and other problems.
