Near Death Experiences Have you ever had a near death experience? A near death experience is a profound psychological event that may occur when a person is close to death in a physical or emotional crisis (NDERF). Everyday normal people go through near death experiences, according to the Near Death Experience Research Foundation, NDERF, reports that 774 near death experiences occur in the United States. "Many people have near death experiences, and there are several common elements that they share."In near death experience many people experience the following: time past slowly, change in priorities, a feeling of death and experiencing it as a dream. Brian Ingalls also experienced time passing slowly as he was in a car crash. As he struggled to keep the car from crashing into the ditch, he felt like he was going in slow motion, and he had time to think crazy thoughts, He thought about how it would feel to wreck, and as his car rolled through a yard filled with lawn decorations, he thought about how cool it was to be rolling over them.(Ingalls).
