Have you ever wondered what happens when you die? Most people spend a considerable amount of time pondering this great question. How would you feel if you learned that the answer is closer to you than you ever realized? You've almost certainly already experienced this, and do experience it regularly without even being aware of it! The answer to this question is most likely astral projection. Being asleep is the closest thing to death that we experience while still maintaining a living state. When we sleep, we are not conscious. There is a lot of debate about where our consciousness goes during sleep, but it is definitely not within our physical body, and the same is true with death. Many people who have had a near death experience report something very similar or identical to the astral projection described earlier. This phenomenon isn't new, humans have been aware of it for centuries. Greek Philosophers like Plato touched on it, and even the Ancient Egyptians had artistic depictions of the astral body separating from the physical body, while staying connected by the silver chord. Astral projection is even mentioned in the Bible. This is not to claim that the Bible is entirely credible, one can appreciate it as a work of literature without following its teachings. However, it shows that we experienced this even in biblical times thousands of years ago. Descriptions of the lower astral planes even match Hell, as it is described in the Bible and also in Dante's Inferno. Many projection enthusiasts understand that if you are afraid or producing negative or anxious energy, you are more likely to have a frightening and unpleasant projection. It is good to be skeptical in almost any scenario, but do not let your doubts prevent you from giving it a try. There are many methods of inducing an astral projection, however, the hanging rope technique is the most suitable for beginners. Lay flat on your back in a darkened room, preferably at the end of the day before bed when you are most relax. Lay flat and focus on taking deep, controlled breathes for at least five minutes. Keep your eyes closed, and focus on the colors and shapes you begin to imagine. Let your body become completely relaxed, until you start to become less and less aware of your body. Continue breathing, and begin to imagine a rope hanging above your body. Without physically moving, imagine yourself slowly getting closer and closer to the rope. Eventually, you will start to feel pressure or vibrations, or possibly both. This means that your consciousness is shifting out of your mortal shell.
