“Things change. And friends leave. Life doesn’t stop for anything.” This powerful quote is written by the amazingly talented Stephen Chbosky, a screenwriter, american novelist, and film director. Some of his fantastic work is his book: The Perks of Being a Wallflower, doing the screenplay for The Perks of Being a Wallflower movie, and the screenplay for 2017 live action film Beauty and the Beast. This connects to my life because I had to experience a lot of change when I left my elementary school, Oak Hills. This quote makes me realize that change will happen, and I can’t stop it. Oak Hills was my school for 6 years, it was like my home away from home. And now I had to go to Medea Creek Middle School and I was scared. There would be tons and tons of homework, scary teachers, and hard tests. It was a beautiful day, the sun shone bright but there was a cool breeze making it not too hot but not too cold. Summer had finally come and it felt great. The music started and my heart started beating out of my chest. I was sad, nervous, excited, and so much more.
