Beauty and the Beast Disney is an excellent example of a Media corporation as it is known
worldwide, go any where in the world and ask someone about Mickey
Mouse or Daffy Duck and they will know that you are talking about
Disney. They have a huge range of advertising and merchandise ranging
from children's books and films to holiday resorts and theme parks.
The Disney brand appeals to all, children and adults alike.
People will expect stereotypical characters for good and evil, the
evil characters being quite dark and in dark surroundings, there
intentions will be and as well. They would expect the good character/s
to prevail at the end.
Beauty and the Beast is a classic film using old style animation
techniques. It has been recently digitally re-mastered for the next
generation to enjoy the magic of Disney. In comparison Toy Story uses
computer generated images that saves time and gives a more realistic
feel to the film. The animation techniques used in Beauty and the
Beast will make the audience expect an older story with more 'old
fashioned' morals whereas Toy Story uses modern animation techniques
the audience would expect a modern tale with a moral more to do with
issues at the moment.

I believe that Beauty and the Beast was the most successful in
portraying 'good and evil'. The use of settings such as the dark,
gloomy castle with the stormy weather and dark clouds around it tell
you immediately it is an evil place. The evil and good characters are
very clear to define as well; the Beast and Gaston are at one point
evil and Belle and the Beast good. The lighting shows good and evil
well, before Belle has any influence over the Beast or the castle it
is very dark and gloomy and over time becomes much lighter and
cleaner.
Film analysis with a critical eye can give the viewer how animation giant Disney uses literary element to relay key messages to the audience. Walt Disney’s “The Princess and the Frog” is a perfect example how different literary theories like ‘the Marxist theory’ and ‘Archetypal theory’ can be embedded in the simplest of the fairy tales. The different literary elements in the movie, shows a person how characters like ‘the banker’ and the setting of the houses helps to portray the socio-economic differences in New Orleans at that time. Applying ‘the Marxist theory’ and ‘the Archetypal theory’ to the plot, characters and the setting, shows how movies can be a medium to confront social issues and to prove that all fairy tales are of the same base.
Presently, Disney known for its mass media entertainment and amusement parks technically bring warm feelings to many children and some adults. Personally, Disney elicits magical fantasies that children enjoy and further encourages imagination and creativity. For decades Disney has exist as an unavoidable entity with its famous global sensation and reach. Furthermore, Disney is a multibillion dollar empire with an unlimited grasp on individuals and territories. An empire per se, since they own many media outlets, markets, shops, etc., you name it they got it. However, the film Mickey Mouse Monopoly presents an entirely new perspective on the presumed innocence projected in Disney films. This film exposes certain traits Disney employs and exclusively portrays through its media productions, specifically cartoons for directing and nurturing influence beginning with children. Mickey Mouse Monopoly points out camouflaged messages of class, race, and gender issues in Disney films that occur behind the scenes intended to sway viewers towards adopting Disney values.
Executive Summary: The entertainment industry holds the immense potential for growth and development. The industry is constantly evolving and Walt Disney emerge as a global leader and recognized as the world’s second largest media conglomerate in the terms of revenue after Comcast. The Walt Disney Company is a multinational entertainment conglomerate headquartered at California, United States. The company integrated its products into five target segments are as follows: (1) Media Networks (2) Parks and Resorts (3) Walt Disney Studios (4) Disney Consumer Products (5) Disney Interactive.
The Walt Disney Company is a highly diversified media and entertainment company that has been growing by leaps and bounds since its inception in the late 1920’s. In the past few decades, The Walt Disney Company has expanded into numerous markets and diversified its business greatly. The company states that their corporate strategy is targeted at creating high-quality family content, exploiting technological innovations to make entertainment experiences more memorable, and expanding internationally. Upon studying the happenings of the company throughout the years, it is easy to see that the company is executing this strategy well through numerous strategic moves in the industry.

Most modern fairytales are expected to have happy endings and be appropriate for children, nonetheless, in past centuries most were gruesome. Consequently, fairytales have been modified throughout time. The stories “Beauty and the Beast” by Jeanne-Marie LePrince de Beaumont and “The Summer and Winter Garden” by Jacob and Wilherm Grimm share similarities and differences. The two stories are distinct because of the peculiar year they have been written in. LePrince de Beaumont’s story is written in London of 1783 and Grimm’s in Germany of 1812. At the time, wealthy people in London, were educated and had nannies who would read to their children; whereas, in Germany, the Grimm brothers created their own interpretation into a short story. Because many high class parents in 18th century London would not be able to spend time with their children, nannies would read “Beauty and the Beast” to them since they were intended for children and considered appropriate. In “The Summer and Winter Garden,” the Grimm’s’ story was mostly based to entertain misbehaved children and teach them the valuable lesson that everyone should be treated with kindness. The Grimm brothers’ goal in rewriting this short story is to better children’s behavior which worked quite well. Since these stories have been re-written for children, it would be safe to say the reason why parents expose the two stories to their children is because they both portray the same moral: good things happen to good people. The two interpretations of “Beauty and the Beast,” although written in separate countries, share important similarities and differences even though the authors have different interpretations and came from different cultures.
The company that I choose to explore is The Walt Disney Company. Walt Disney started the Disney Brothers studio in 1926, after years of working as a cartoonist. I selected this company due to the fact I am a fan of their products and services. Disney produced some of my favorite films like Aladdin, Hook and The Lion King. After I visited their website, I discovered that Disney owns multiple media outlets, in such areas as film, Internet, music, broadcasting, publishing and recreation. According to Disney’s “The mission of The Walt Disney Company is to be the one of the world’s leading producers and providers of entertainment and information. Using our portfolio of brands to differentiate our content, service and consumer products, we seek to develop the most creative, innovative and profitable entertainment experiences and related products in the world”. The Disney brand is doing exactly what their mission states.
In the “Beauty and the Beast” by Madame Leprince de Beaumont she talks in her fairy tale how money was very important for the characters within the story. She also talks about how people could fall in love with another and that it does not matter if a person is not a good looking person that their feelings were more important. In my new adaptation of “Beauty and the Beast”. I put the character of the Beast from Madame’s fairy tale in my adaptation he is a man because I want to show how a good looking man can be a bad person and that it does not matter how you look outside. As stated by Emerson, beauty cannot be found unless carried within one’s self first. In the novel by Alice Walker, “The Color Purple”, Celie finds out that beauty is not real unless it is first found within, so that that beauty felt can reflect for others to see. [Celie went through traumatic struggles before she ever felt beautiful starting with the treatment of influential men in her life. Although she felt more connection with women in her life, her early encounters with Shug greatly accounted for her self worth at the time. However, Celie could not be beautiful to others unless she found beauty within herself, for herself.]
I would want a roommate that is responsible, caring, accepting, and has a sense of adventure. Belle from Beauty and the Beast would be the fictional character that I would want as a roommate. She is a person that knows her boundaries but is still willing to go past them if it means helping others or adventure. Belle is also aware that other people have their own boundaries and will respect them. When the Beast pushes her away and treats her poorly, she continues to help him see that there is still good in the world despite what he seems to believe. Part of her being so accepting is due to her unconventional methods of looking at things. She does not judge things as quickly as other people and gets to know what she is facing before judging.
Beauty and the Beast is probably one of the most well known fairy tales that the Grimms’ reproduced. In it’s original form it was a long, drawn out story that was catered to adults. The Grimms’ changed the story to be more understood by children and made it short and to the point. Unlike many of the other fairy tales that they reproduced, Beauty and the Beast contains many subtle symbols in its purest form. It shows a girl and how she transfers to a woman; it also shows that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. The one major thing that separates this story from all the rest is that Beauty gets to know the Beast before marrying him.
