Narrative Writing: 2G By: Caleb O’Connell When the last day of 1st grade came in May I was so excited with anticipation for 2nd grade because I knew that I wasn't going to be the only one there. All of my 1st-grade friends would come along with me to 2nd grade. I was just so excited for 2nd grade to come in the Fall. When I went to Back to School night to put my supplies in my desk. At first, I didn’t even notice my teacher in the classroom but on the way out she greeted us while we were leaving. My mom told her about me and she was just like “Wow! I can’t believe I’m going to have someone who is good at technology in my classroom.” I was good at technology at the time and even still today. The first day of school finally came and I was so excited that I couldn't believe it was already here! “Wow, the first day of school came fast!” I …show more content…
“Now that you have read and it’s almost time for the last part of the day to begin I thought that I would tell you that we’re going on a field trip to see a play sometime this next week. How’s that sound?” Pretty much everyone wanted to go to the play. She said, “Good, so I’m going to have someone pass the permission slips out so that you all can get it signed and can go on the field trip.” Pretty much everyone was very excited for this field trip, it was going to be fun. When it was time for the field trip everyone was already in the classroom talking and waiting for the teacher to tell us that we can head down to the bus lot and go to the play, “Ok everyone grab your backpacks and sack lunches and let's go see a play!” The rest of year went great with a party at the end of the year to celebrate 2nd Grade. As well,I got to keep 2 things and they were: a green binder and a book called The Legacy of the Puppy. I will never ever forget 2nd Grade and the fun year that I had with my class and my awesome
Before long I spotted my friends a few feet away and I walked in their direction. I found my 3 friends roaring with laughter, and I couldn’t help but laugh as well. A few hours later we were all piled in the car and Ashley’s parents drove home. We sat in a comfortable silence because everyone was exhausted from all the fun that we had. I smiled to myself in the dark, as I thought about what an amazing story my trip to six flags would make in the
After, we played some fun activities like rolling down hills, which was this game where people crossed arms and then tried to have every body's arms straight. We also spotted deer. The deer were trying to hide from us when we saw them. They sprinted off faster than a cheetah when we saw them. We were able to have our lunch and then we played more fun games after that. My class went and walked all over Leroy oaks getting to see all of the nature. One guy who worked there taught us about acorns. He was hilarious, sarcastic, and was like go ahead and jump in the poison ivy. Next, we went inside a museum and did a scavenger hunt. The scavenger hunt was about raccoons and all the other creatures in the museum. I was not the biggest fan it but it went pretty quickly. All I had to do was look at some posters and in some drawers. Mrs. Palpant had a station where you had two rugs and you had to get across with six people on the mats and not touch the ground. It was hard to succeed because there are six people. I was always the person that had to move one of the mats up. The rugs were not very big only about two and a half by two. But, up next we were going to go in the water. I was ready to
After we ate and finished up, we headed over to the sweet shop that we saw earlier. We walked in and I got candy for the side but a huge chocolate covered banana with nuts on top. Everyone else got ice cream and a banana split. We headed back to the hotel and we all watched a movie about four girls that went to greece without their parents. Of course they were older but they weren't that much older so I said, “Why don't we go to Greece for Two days. I have family that lives there and Katelyn has enough money to take us”. “I would love to go. We could go to Athens and Chania because I heard that they are really pretty and we learned about them in history” she said excitedly. “I don't want to go that far without my parents” Cici and April said at the same time. “You will be fine because look how far you are from your parents right now” Maddy said. “Ok” they both
I stared at the blinking cursor, unbelieving at what I had just done. I was indeed done; done with a paper I agonized over for 6 hours. The paper was due in a scant 4 hours and I had all week to do it. The radio had stopped working because my brother got on the Internet and thus cut off my connection. That was the least of my problems working on this paper. I got it done, though. My life changed with one trip of a teacher to the chalkboard and one phrase, narrative essay. God, I hate narrative essays.
One of my most memorable moments was during elementary school. I attended L.A Morgon elementary school, at the end of every school year we had a little festive inside the
In second grade when I was 8 years old, I receive my first honor roll and they had a assembly for the people who made honors. On stage, the teacher was calling the names and passing out honor roll certificate and taking pictures, but it was mostly quite. When the teacher had called me, I see everyone in the room was clapping and dancing for me. I had so much love and I was truly humbled and blessed for that
isn't to write a paper that will get a good grade. Now, my goal is to
In 1966, Truman Capote stated that the “first essential of a nonfiction novel” is that “there is a timeless quality about the cause and events.” This statement does not hold true. Nonfiction writing has a purpose of capturing the truth. It records the past and the present. Being timeless is not the first essential of nonfiction.
It was my frist day of high school in Iowa when I discovered English and reading were easy. I was sitting at the desk right in front of the teacher. It was my second day of his class and I already didn't care for him. He took a stack of pamphlets and bubble sheets off his desk.
Learning style is cognitive, emotional and the physiological factors can clearly define how a learner manages within a structured learning environment. Additionally, the different learning styles can provide a basic understanding for trainers on how learners prefer to learn. Nonetheless, learning styles should not be used to divide people into learning sub groups. Individuals can learn in any learning style, however may prefer one style over another.
I woke up and sighed. This was it, the last day of school before summer. Every child across the state would be waking up with a feeling of pure bliss. Girls would put on their favorite shorts and the guys would wear tight shirts to reveal their muscles the best they could. All rules set up to prevent any trouble at school would be broken repeatedly. There would be drama galore and the annual water balloon fight would be right after school. Exactly why I hated summer break.
It was finally the first day of school; I was excited yet nervous. I hoped I would be able to make new friends. The first time I saw the schools name I thought it was the strangest name I’ve ever heard or read, therefore I found it hard to pronounce it in the beginning. The schools’ floors had painted black paw prints, which stood out on the white tiled floor. Once you walk through the doors the office is to the right. The office seemed a bit cramped, since it had so many rooms in such a small area. In the office I meet with a really nice, sweet secretary who helped me register into the school, giving me a small tour of the school, also helping me find
I remember my fourth grade year as if it were yesterday. My homeroom teacher, Mr.
As mentioned, the novel is a circular narrative that has two different narrators, with three main plot lines. The narrative style and alternating narrators allows Boyden to explore the use of stories and words in many settings and emphasize their power. The novel centres around three main characters, Niska, Elijah Whiskeyjack and Xavier Bird. The first storyline told through the perspective of Niska is her childhood and life. Then Xavier, the second narrator describes his wartime experiences through flashback memories as well as his current struggles to stay alive. However each character tells stories throughout the novel, and each use stories in very different ways that reflect the power
It was in the beginning of 2010. I graduated to tenth grade, the senior year of the school. My emotions were driven by both anxiety and exultation. Since the final score in the tenth grade was a yardstick of our knowledge-gained and hard-work done throughout our schooling, all of us were concerned. However, the feeling of freedom after the tenth grade kept us elated. Those memories are quite vivid in my memory.
