Recommended: Online Schooling vs. Traditional Schooling

I applied to work at a residential camp this summer because I have grown each year coming to NCSSM. I have participated in NCSSSM Summer Accelerator, Online orientation, and Summer Leadership as a junior. As a senior, I participated in Summer Internship. Both years, I've show personal growth and I want to help other students experience similar achievements.

A role model means to me someone who is confident in themselves but can own up to their mistakes. They have life experience and skills but continue to learn. A role model should want to guide other people away from their mistakes yet comfort them in their downfalls.

During my time at NCSSM Summer Leadership, I became very emotional because I was an online student. I felt like that program was geared to preparing the upcoming residential students. My camp counselor talked with me and made me feel better about the position I was in. This experience gave me the understanding to value the path I was on and I want to be an encourager for other people in similar situations. I also, spoke out to the overseer of the program so that they have changed the program. The program is geared now to both the residential and online program. My experience helped students in the future generations and I it will positively influence me on the proper way to handle situations. …show more content…

I plan to double major in political science and psychology. Psychology is about understand the mind but especially understand people. To adequately understand people you must know how to properly communicate. I try to communicate in a way, that the person can correctly understand me.
