B. Socialization is a vital role in the upbringing of children, it is up to the parents to guide the child in areas such as communication, manners etc. II. Displaying of moral values is equally important as teaching it; parents should lead by being an example to their child just as teaching it. A. Parents should be their children role model, simply because children view their parents as an inspiration to them, they do what they are told by their parents and they act upon what they see their parents do also.
Discipline is about choices and consequences. When getting disciplined your children learn how to be responsible, honest, kind, and sharing people. While they follow the rules set in place by their parents they have the chance to grow up to be well-behaved and respectful individuals. When your child disobeys you your consequences should encourage your child to stop negative behaviors and make positive choices (How to Discipline). It is important for your child to respect you and for you to respect your child.
The word discipline, to me, does not necessarily mean punishment. Parents can use discipline as more of a teaching moment for their child. I believe that this characteristic makes for good parenting and I feel as though every parent should do it because discipline provides the foundation for children’s self-control. It is important that we consistently express what we approve or disapprove when it comes to a child’s behavior as the child will start to internalize those standards and begin to act on them. I also believe that discipline is a key part in being a good parent because it teaches children important life skills.
Discipline is taught to children by utilizing both punishment and reward. They are punished when they don’t follow the rules and they are rewarded when they do. Parents must be consistent with enforcing the rules. Punishment is not a ‘one size fits all’, it should be customized to the child. The best form of teaching a child how to be disciplined is for the parents to be a role model for good behavior.
Based on this analysis, young children would need Kant`s outlook on morality in order to be sufficient in society. In this paper, I will argue that we as moral agents have a sense of duty to educate young children on how they should act by allowing them to reason and make rational decisions in society. In order to do this, educators which includes parents and caregivers, must teach young children the true purpose of good will based on Kantian ethics. Secondly, educators must instruct young children on how to implement policies, which Kant refers to as maxims, which are universal (Kant, 287). This concept is based on Kant`s principle of universal law.
A good parent is considered as someone who teaches his or her child the difference between what’s right and what’s wrong. It is very important for us to teach our children from an early age what is right. Children should be taught to respect their elders, leader, parents and the laws of the country in which they reside. A good
Discipline derives from the Latin word “disciplinare” meaning “to teach”. Thus, reasoning can be used as an effective tool to teach your children right from wrong. As opposed to the “We’re doing it this way because I say so method” through reasoning a parent is able to convey the importance of socially acceptable behaviour to the child. The main emphasis of reasoning is to provide your child with clear and straight forward guidelines of acceptable behaviour, to explain the consequences of good and bad behaviour and also to convey to your child why the consequences are necessary. 1 on 1 sit downs are important in helping your child to understand these concepts.
Introduction Parenting style is one of the most attributed issues when dealing with care for children by their own parents. Parents should be always knowledgeable about the impact of proper parenting so that their child will grow productively. In this case, the level of parenting issues can help to improve the process of child’s learning development. This paper is going to discuss at least three parenting style for children in order to explore more about these proper parenting styles, which could help to improve the child’s physical as well as cognitive aspects. The nature of providing proper parenting can be provided by guardians or parents who will be responsible for attending all of their children’s needs.
Children learn by modeling the authorities and in every family, the authorities are the parents. The parents are ultimately responsible for their children’s behavior because the children act accordingly to what they are taught and what they witness. If the parents set a bad example for behavior, chances are that the children justify any wrong behavior by arguing that that is how their parents act. An important precept that any parent should follow is not to give into temptation. This means being loyal to their partner by not committing acts of adultery.
If a parent behaves in a certain manner, more than likely their children will end up doing the same actions. This is because a child is the reflection of their parents. The parents are the ones who set the right example. It is the parent’s accountability for how the children have been taught to behave. They learn their ways of behavior from their parents.
