Greek Mythology and Superheroes
Thousands of years ago what is now considered mythology and folklore was actual religion among the indigenous cultures of those beliefs. Among those, Greek Mythology is the most well-known and referenced. Greek Gods were not visions of perfection. They had personal problems, arguments, wars, and a great multitude of affairs. The Greek gods were essentially characters in the works of many great writers and it can be debated that belief in these gods came second to the writing of the stories. American superhero comics came into existence concretely with the advent of Superman by Detective Comics. Before that there was a plethora of heroes in comics that were based off of Greek adventures of demigods and godly heroes. As comics evolved, it has become clear that many of the superheroes that are read every day by adoring fans that they are based on Greek mythos. These adoring fans can go on to become writers of this superhero mythology just as great ancient writers became writers for the stories of the gods. Superhero comics find their roots in Greek mythology in the nature of their stories as well as they concern betrayal, the problems of superior beings that are responsible for the wellbeing of the populace, half powered beings, and affairs.
Many years prior what is presently recognized mythology and old stories was genuine religion around the indigenous societies of those convictions. Around those, Greek Mythology is the most well-known and referenced. Greek Gods were not dreams of flawlessness. They had particular issues, contentions, wars, and an incredible huge number of undertakings. In the interim, Greek mythology and its figures served more to characterize Greek society and public opinion and aide it along a different way. This is apparent in the decrease of stories concerning basic, element based divine beings. As people got more acculturated and still longed to have stories of extraordinary creatures that are essentially divine beings around us. This is a predictable subject in our written work however it finished in contemporary as comics, in which we are composing our own mythology.
