One could say I am very passionate about my political views for being so young, My passion for politics inspired me to take action throughout the course of my high school career, and as a result, I became president of Y-Club. Y-Club is not only a way to have my voice heard, but to have it echo in the mind of every student I have the opportunity to share my perspective. While I am very passionate about many political issues, one illuminates itself to me more than any other. The issue is immigration and racism. Growing up as an average white male, born in the United States, I cannot testify what it is like being an immigrant, nor can I say that I have been discriminated against as a repercussion of my skin color. I perceive many individual’s true views on immigrants such as they’re useless, they take our jobs, and they hurt our nation. For me, none of these are accurate. My life has been indelibly changed due to my best friend, an immigrant from India by the name of Bradley. Growing up, I did not know Christ nor did I have a Christian faith. I was just a nobody. When I moved five years ago, I met Bradley, and this is when my Christian walk commenced. We instantly became friends, and grew closer over the years. Little did I know this was the effort of God. About six months ago, Bradley first invited me to church. I continued to attend over the weeks. After three months, I made the realization, God placed Bradley in my life in order to guide me to Him. This realization was life-changing. Bradley stood by my side as I made the decision to be saved and then baptized. After undergoing these steps in my Christian journey, I can now call Bradley one of my brothers in Christ. This is an infrangible bond between two individuals. If it was not for this life-changing immigrant, I would not be where I stand today. I believe individuals should be more welcoming to
