My Career Teacher

The career I have chosen is a Teacher. Every since I was a kid I’ve always wanted to be a teacher. It’s something I put my mind to and it never changed. What appeals most to me about this job is the thought of inspiring someone else to be a teacher much like someone did to me. I wanted to change at least one students life for the better, even if it’s just having someone to talk to. I remember sitting in Mrs. Daniels class, my fourth grade teacher, and thinking. I want to do this. I want to be a teacher. To be a teacher you need to be open minded. You have to want to learn new things because it’s not just the students who learn, the teachers learn just as much. Teahers also need to be kind, humble,and patient. You need to have respect, kids won’t respect you if you don’t respect them. Create a feeling of belonging in the room so all the students feel welcome. Also set high expectations for the students because if they see that you believe in them they will believe in them as well. Love what you’re teaching, if you’re passionate they will listen. That’s one way I am suited for this career, I have passion. I want to be in the class. I want to teach. The traits I have to be a teacher is the drive and determination. To be a teacher you need to be State Certified, some require the PRAXIS. The skills you need include patience, creativity, compassion, Microsoft Office, classroom management, organization, and instructional skills. You need to major in Elementary School Teaching and the training you may need is student teaching, visit classrooms and write reports, and create lesson plans and practice them in front of peers. Occupations related to my career are teacher assistants, preschool teachers, librarians, and kindergarten
