Although in other countries they make every citizen do one year or more of military service, America doesn’t make anyone practice in the military. Being in military training for at least one year isn’t a choice that most american citizens would like to be mandatory. First and foremost, if people don’t want to do military training, why should the United States Military make them. If the children and adults were forced to be in military training, then it wouldn’t make america the land of the free and home of the brave. Forcing people to be in the military would make everyone hate it. If someone would rather sit inside all day and be a “couch potato,” then let them do that all day instead of doing something they do not want to be.

Although there are many civilian jobs that offer retirement, there are a lot that do not. The military has a set retirement plan and savings plan. If one joins the military at the age of eighteen, they will have a great retirement at the age of thirty-eight, twenty short years after enlistment. Retiring at the age of thirty-eight, after receiving a free college education and a degree will give an enlisted extra income while having a second
Being a military veteran can have both positive and negative effects on one’s ability to maintain a job and socialize with other people. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder is usually a problem with soldiers coming back from war, although after a veteran recovers from it, it creates great job opportunities. Business leaders recognize how useful a military veteran is in the work force. Veterans tend to show great responsibility, leadership, and team work which make them the ideal employee for many jobs.
"A young man who does not have what it takes to perform military service is not likely to have what it takes to make a living." When joining the military you must perform your best to protect our country. Tons of men and women around the world fight for the country and make a career out of it. There are three major branches and many different jobs to go with each one. Each have many specific tasks. (Robbie Hughes Interview)
People often say “Don't be afraid to change because although you may lose something good you may gain something much better.” This particular quote is what many people live by, this quote is what the Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps program lives by. The program initially started in the the year of 1916 which was the year that the National Defense Act was signed and enforced, it was later expanded in the year of 1964 with the signing of the ROTC Vitalization Act.
Military service in the United States should be compulsory (required) because it will provide economic and social benefits to those people who are serving as well as create a benefit for the general public as well as nation as a whole.
Less than one percent of all Americans enlisted in the military. An even smaller percentage of high school students are enrolled. Students are thought to be incompetent, and not mature enough to decide on enlisting in the military. However, students should be allowed to join the military. The military offers many benefits students can use to help their future.
People who support the military draft will say that it is the obligation of every citizen of the United States, and every other person residing in the United States, who is between the ages of 18 and 42, to perform a period of national service. Aren?t there many other ways--less deadly ways--to contribute to the country?s well being? Should we, as citizens, be allowed to evade this ultimate obligation by turning it over to the poorer members of society, those who can't find good-paying jobs or training except in the military? In "A War for Us, Fought by Them," William Broyles, a Vietnam war veteran and the father of a young man who is a soldier in the Marines, argues that the military draft should be brought back, and this time it should be done right: everybody should be drafted, not just ?the profoundly patriotic or the economically needy" (Broyles 695).
In the U.S. every American citizen has their own rights; whether it is freedom of religion, speech and even choice. Americans have the choice to do whatever they want, so if they do not want to participate in the military and go to war then they should not be forced to. Men and women should not be forced to do something that they are not comfortable with. Many Americans want to pursue in higher education; if they go to war they it could lack the chance of them pursuing their dream if they are busy serving the country. The United States is known as the ‘Land of the Free’ which means that Americans are free to make any decision they want. Many argue that reinstating the military draft would not help the military at all; it would just add more men and women rather than making a better army. To conclude, fighting for the military should be a decision based off of every American whether than being forced into
Teaching young men how to survive in horrible conditions while America is at peace is a necessity in order to successfully overwhelm and capture a country. If America stays the way it is now and another country such as Russia tries to invade the US, there won’t be enough experienced soldiers and most American citizens wouldn’t even know what to do. That’s why America needs to reinforce conscription in order to be prepared for these worst case scenarios. This also would boost the economy by creating more job opportunities, because people would work and invest in the private sector of the armed forces. Entrepreneurs would heavily focus on the arms market as well as supplementary training camps. As everyone knows a nation can have a strong and large army available, but if your economy is too fragile and can collapse easily then the soldiers could wave the white flag right ahead just like what basically happened to Germany in the Second World War.
If everyone had to go to the military there would probably be a lot more suicides because some people would not be confident that they could survive or might just not want to go especially in some military positions like front line.
Military is an establishment of a country and nation. There are a few different motivation behind why one may join the Military. Recently, Ive asked a few secondary school understudies for what good reason they anticipate inlisting in the military. Majority of their responses were cash for school , training and traveling. Those are suitable reasons yet many are undecided wheather to join the military after college or before college. With All things considered , it is by all means more valuable and beneficial to join the military before school instead of joining after school. One key defense would be that joining the military before school will help pay for ones
