Persuasive Essay Other Side If it was mandatory for people to serve in the military, it would be larger, full of people with wider skill ranges and provide more opportunities for youth that lack them. When it is mandatory for people to enlist, the military would reach a size way beyond what it is, allowing us more protection and power. If everyone had a duty to serve in the military, the size of it would increase greatly. As of now, our military is only made up of people who choose to enlist. There really aren’t a whole lot of people that choose to, mainly because it doesn’t provide as many opportunities as many other career choices do. When a military is large, it allows more soldiers to do more things. The more soldiers we have, the more power we have because we can afford to use more of them. Another thing a large military does is increase the amount of technology we create and use. Our military would be more diverse in the amount of fields of work people go into. Making it mandatory for enlisting would allow more people to help in certain services that maybe don’t have a lot. Not only would we get more infantry units and transport, but we would also get many more people in the field of technology to provide and help keep our military …show more content…

Someone that is struggling in life in general would get an opportunity to be great at something and really help out this country. Some might get in there and finally realize what they really want to do in life, or at least what they really enjoy doing. People that start out on a bad road at a young age can get straightened out quickly. It would provide an amazing way for young adults to realize their potential and help them make good decisions later in life. Overall it would help this country bring unemployment rate down, decrease drug use and increase variety of career
