The Value of Management Consultancy
“A number of books over the years have criticised management consultants, and accused them of having dubious value (rubber stamping executives' existing biases, or even giving advice that destroyed value (books: “Dangerous Company: Management Consultants and the Businesses They Save and Ruin”, “Con Tricks: The Shadowy World of Management Consultancy and How to Make it Work For You”, the film “The firm” etc.)”. This statement is has been brought about by a few bad eggs in the consultancy industry which has led to wrong misconceptions being created overtime.
Management Consultancy is very important for organizations in search of innovative and fresh ways to improve and keep abreast with organisational trends and changes around the world. Furthermore, they bring no predisposition with them, which helps to make their decision making process less biased. (Fombrun, 2004)

GSK develops and supplies drugs to improve the quality of life of people around the globe; GSK currently employs more than 97,000 people in over 100 countries.

... the management of organisations before, during and after the completion of projects, consultants also provide invaluable support to organisations that intend to, or want to undergo major change transitions.
Every consultant should not be tarnished with the same brush, and undergo intense bad publicity due to the actions of the past leaders in the field of consultancy. The world of business has moved along with technology since the past mistakes of inexperienced consultants, this is due to the continuous rapid advancement in technology, which requires organisations to seek the business acumen of consultants with on the hands-on experience, a skill that most consultants in the field today have. Clients now look for consultants to work on projects and want them to have knowledge as well as good people management skills in order to successfully integrate their ideas.

On the basis of these findings, I recommend that Johnson & Johnson is a considerable place for employment for someone who is seeking to be part of a pharmaceutical organization
An Analysis of GlaxoSmithKline The business that I have done research into is GlaxoSmithKline. This company is a globalised research-based pharmaceutical public limited company. Its ownership structure has changed a great deal since the original company was first established in 1715. Originally a pharmacy, the company has expanded, merged with and taken over other companies over the decades.

According to the chart, the company develops a decentralized authority in the level of their management due to which they focus more on adapting to what customer wants based on decision making from the lower level managers who are more familiar in the local conditions. Lorna works hard to raise her pharmacy’s profile within Kenora in order to attract new customers. In the globalized economy, Successful project managers are in much demand across many industries. Organizations strongly need experienced project managers to lead their staff to accomplish their business goals and deliver successful projects. In an increasingly complex environment, project managers need to turn into many roles and have all kinds of responsibilities at each level of management within an organization. Good project managers are not born. They need to be trained. They develop their skills through study, practise and experience. They become better project managers after they finish a successful project each time. They learn new techniques and apply them on their projects. They learn their lessons from failed projects and then improve to be better project managers in the future.
