Graduating high school used to be my long term goal, but now that I am getting closer to this goal I have made it my short term goal and I decided to think bigger for my long term goal. The short term goal that I have made for myself is to graduate high school this year, be ranked in the top ten percent of my class, and get the most scholarships as possible to continue my education after high school. I knew that in order for me to make my short term goals a possibility than I should focus on obtaining the best possible grades since the first day of high school. I believe that my education will be the best investment that I will ever invest in. My education is an important weapon to have because it's something that can't be taken away from me. It took a lot of effort, but I am getting closer to accomplishing my goal. I have heard many negative thoughts form different people, but every day that I continue to go to school is a day that keeps proving them wrong because I am getting closer to graduating. In my opinion, I believe that I am right on track of accomplishing my four year plan A through G requirements. In addition, I definitely believe that I have a plan for my next three years of high school. Furthermore, I am certain that I would graduate high school. As I started to advance into my high school education, I noticed that my attitude about school and grades was not going to get me anywhere. I went to school and goofed off with my friends and did enough work to get a decent 70 on my work and go home. In my household, from the time I was in Kindergarten, my mother expected academic excellence and nothing less. With her help I was an A student, Science fair grand champion, Young authors winner, Community helpers member, Young academic role model and more. At the age of eleven I lost my mother to Invasive Breast Cancer. Being academically successful was her goal for me and up to that point in her life she instilled the values of education and hard work ethic into me. At that young age I had to decide how I was going to continue being academically successful in school and what were my educational goals for myself. Since that day every school year I ask myself that same question,and this year being my senior year it’s more prominent than ever. My short term educational goals are: to apply and be admitted to 4 universities, maintain a 3.7 gpa, pass AP calc and English exam’s with a score of 4 or higher, and graduate with honors.

Currently, my main goal is to graduate from East Carolina University with a bachelor’s degree of science in engineering with a concentration in biomedical engineering. My anticipated time to graduation is five years with a GPA of 3.5 or higher. Life has no meaning without goals. In order to succeed setting goal is very important. Without setting goals there would be nothing to look forward to, or even have anything to achieve. Goals are a vital aspect of our lives. It gives a sense of self-confidence. I believe without goals life would just be a plain and no excitement at all. Long-term and short-term goals are intertwined and work similarly to build a house from ground up. I vision myself become a radiologist within the next three to five years. This is my present long-term goal. To achieve my long term goal I have two short term goals, first to get good grades in prerequisites courses and second to complete my grad school program with "A" grade minimum, because graduating with good grades is the stepping stone for my long-term goal.
It wasn’t until my senior year of high school when I realized the true importance of going to college really was. The only reason I excelled in my studies was because I was always motivated too, so when it came down to my decision to continue school I didn’t know what to do. I decided that even with a degree in today’s economy, it won’t have much of an impact. But I couldn’t have been more wrong than ever. I eventually came to my own senses and decided for myself that all my years of being in school, planning for my future, long hours of hard work and perseverance shouldn’t go to waste.
Greek philosopher and scientist Aristotle once said, “Education is an ornament in prosperity and a refuge in adversity.” This notion is absolutely correct, as I have my education to thank for bringing me through hardships and providing me with so many opportunities to grow professionally as well as morally. Education has always been there to pull me up, when I had nothing else working in my life. I’ve learned how to fight for what I want and not allow anything to get in the way of that.
but I have seen now that school is much more than that. Without my education, I would be doing nothing unless I saw myself working at a fast food restaurant my whole life. I don’t see my future doing that. School is my main focus right now, I have no distraction so I am sure I will accomplish all my goals that I set myself to do. I had to change the way I saw things and I’m sure I am going to be great in college as long as I push myself.
Education has always been an important part of my family. My mother being a school teacher has always encouraged me to continue my education after high school by going to college. I feel I have always made academics a priority in my life. My hopes are that by continuing my education through college, I can recieve a career where I benefit both my community and my family. My goals in college are to get involved with student government, play lacrosse graduate in the top of my class all my life of being in school I was always active not just a regular student. Whether it was SGA or sports or volunteer work I was a part of it; all years of school levels I have graduated with honors and I do not want to see anything different now while I am in college. As we all know college is not a walk in the park and I am well aware of that. I have to really be on my game to accomplish my goal of graduating with honors. I am already on the way of my goal, I have already completed 3 business courses and am now on the process of taking one now. I have taken business law, introduction of business, and industrial business; I did not take them at Towson however they still transferred over as business courses.

Life After High School I’ve just entered my senior year of high school. I know that this is a very important year. I have a lot of decisions to make and not much time to make them.
