Long Term Goals After High School

Graduating high school used to be my long term goal, but now that I am getting closer to this goal I have made it my short term goal and I decided to think bigger for my long term goal. The short term goal that I have made for myself is to graduate high school this year, be ranked in the top ten percent of my class, and get the most scholarships as possible to continue my education after high school. I knew that in order for me to make my short term goals a possibility than I should focus on obtaining the best possible grades since the first day of high school. It has been tough getting to this point because I have seen a lot of my classmates drop out of school because they would always say that it's hard enough to go to a public school, but they can't imagine how hard it will …show more content…

I believe that my education will be the best investment that I will ever invest in. My education is an important weapon to have because it's something that can't be taken away from me. It took a lot of effort, but I am getting closer to accomplishing my goal. I have heard many negative thoughts form different people, but every day that I continue to go to school is a day that keeps proving them wrong because I am getting closer to graduating. When I accomplish my short term goal I will start all over again as a freshman university student. My long term goal clashes with my professional goal which is to graduate Western Illinois University and get in to medical school to become an obstetric gynecologist. I know that it will take a lot of years, but like my parents always tell me the years will continue to pass by so I might as well make them worth it. I will continue to work hard and move forward even though it will be a long way. I believe that continuing my education after high school is an opportunity that some don't have which is why I will try my best and take advantage of
