Law Study: A Confluence of Knowledge and Impact

I believe that my motivation for studying law predominantly stems from my both my desire to make an impact on the world and my everlasting thirst for knowledge. I believe that these two sources of motivations coincide with each other perfectly and my odds of success in the field of law would be significantly hindered if I were to be deprived of one of these sources. What I mean to say is, what good is a desire to make an impact without an accompanying thirst for knowledge that will lead you to discover the most effective means to make said impact. Also, what good is vast array of knowledge without a desire to parlay it into the betterment of yourself and others?
When properly applied and/or present, these two sources of motivation have proven to be very rewarding for my academic and charitable endeavors.

However, I believe that the lens through which I view these two diversions can provide a glance into how my mind operates and how it will serve myself well, both in law school and in my future legal career. I consume sports and politics through a more analytical lens. Just knowing who won or lost an election or a game is simply not enough for me. When consuming sports and politics, I strive to learn, either through poll numbers or advanced sports analytics, why the end-result occurred as it did and what steps need to be taken for the result to be replicated, if favorable, or avoided, if unfavorable, in the future. Given the fact that the possession and proper application of analytical and logical reasoning skills is practically a pre-requisite for law school success; I would certainly serve to benefit if the lens through which I view sports and politics, also manifests itself in my approach to my law-school
