The software’s name is Law Enforcement Analysis (LEA). The name of the software indeed allows one to envision the software’s value to the law enforcement community. The name “Law Enforcement Analysis” shows that the software is to help law enforcement agencies. Law enforcement agencies have a lot of challenges fighting crime. Information is very crucial in fighting crime. Law enforcement agencies are hammered with a lot of data from many sources. It may take up days for agencies to analyze the data. But with this software, the agencies can integrate data from all criminal justice system such as CAD, RMS, and JMS. Once the data is interpreted and integrated, the users can access dashboards, alerts, ad hoc analytics, reports, and interactive maps (Informationbuilders, n.d).

The COMPSTAT ( Compare-Statistics) system was developed by the New York Police Department in 1994 and is credited with having a significant impact on the reduction of major crimes in New York city. COMPSTAT is internationally recognized as having become an extremely successful tool, incorporating accurate crime intelligence analysis methods and streamlining law enforcement management processes, including the seeding of power to local district commanders. In broad strokes, COMPSTAT can be described as a series of process used for the collection and analysis of criminal intelligence data which in turn assists commanders in developing effective strategies and tactics to combat crime.
The outdated nature of the Nigerian criminal justice system has been a topic for deliberation in recent times. Rightly put, there is work to be done by the legislative arm of the Nigerian government as the present procedures for adjudication of laws are old and present a problem to judicial officers as there are loopholes which are frequently exploited, and its archaic nature makes it unfit for use in a modern society. The criminal justice system is defined as the collective institutions through which an offender passes until the accusation has been disposed of or the assessed punishment concluded. The system typically has three components: law enforcement which includes; police, sheriffs, marshals; the judicial process which includes the judges, prosecutors, defense lawyers; and corrections which includes the prison officials, probation officers and parole officers . By the above definition, it can be elicited that the criminal justice system is a necessary organ of a functioning society, and it is necessary that an organ of such invaluable importance be kept in good shape. An effective criminal justice system is fundamental to the maintenance of law and order this is because it addresses behavioral issues, but due to the outdated nature of the Nigerian criminal system, the pivotal functions of the organ which is conviction and acquittal have been hindered drastically and have become exceedingly rare.

Some of the implications involved in the information systems are input, processing, output and feedback. Computer Statistics (COMPSTAT) uses Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to help police respond to crimes faster. The strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threat analysis (SWOT analysis), are evaluated in the predictive policing. All of these subject matters will be discussed in this paper.
Young people and the police have, for many years, experienced a tense and confrontational relationship (Borgquist & Johnson et al., 1995). This has led to a great wealth of literature based upon the notion of police-youth interaction. Much of this literature has tended to focus upon juvenile criminality and the reasons why young people commit such seemingly high levels of crime. Whilst the relationship between young people and the police force has been widely theorised and explained, there is very little literature on juvenile attiudes towards the police. Research that concerns societies attitudes towards the police force tends to focus upon the views and opinions of adults (Hurst and Frank, 2000). In this first section of my literature review I am going to focus upon work that allows us to gain a deeper understanding of why young people are so important when looking at crime. This section will allow us to comprehend the ways in which, literature suggests, young people view the police. This knowledge will provide a basis for my research in which I look more specifically at youth attitudes towards PCSO’s.
The use of technology in the policing domain has been rapidly adopted over the past few years. However, it should be noted that the process of adopting and effectively using technology in law enforcement, begun more than 50 years ago. For instance, it become apparent in the 1950’s that computer would enable easier storage and retrieval of large amounts of data.
