CHAPTER 1
INTRODUCTION
1.1 Background
The learning of piano playing is never an easy task and “not naturally learned” (Hosaka, 2009, p. 166). The process of piano learning is quite challenging as it requires intentional and disciplined musical training over the years continuously like other fields in performing arts, such as “dancing, acting, and conducting” (Sandor, 1981, p. xi). Piano students usually experience different pianistic playing challenges in their learning process such as struggle to play double notes, repeated notes or chords, running notes, scales, arpeggios, and rich tone without tension due to everyone has different body structure (Coraggio, 1997b; Hosaka, 2009).
Since the invention of modern piano has gradually replaced the previous keyboard instruments like the harpsichord in the 1700s, numerous books were written on the

She conceptualized comfort as existing in three forms: relief, ease, and transcendence. Relief is experienced when the comfort needs of a patient are met. Ease is achieved through a state of contentment, when anxiety is relieved. Transcendence occurs when patients overcome their challenges in achieving comfort. Kolcaba states four contexts in which comfort can occur: physical (pertaining to one’s body), psycho-spiritual (one’s relationship to a higher power), environmental (surroundings of the patient), and socio-cultural (pertains to one’s relationships with family, society, etc.). Kolcaba’s theory presents comfort as an outcome of purposeful, patient-centered, quality care (Kolcaba's Theory of Comfort,
Over an extensive amount of time, the piano has developed into what we commonly see today. Through the improvement in the production of dynamics and the development of the pedals, it has become a popular instrument that is used for a variety of genres apart from classical music, such as jazz and contemporary. There are a variety of models available, such as the grand piano, where the harpsichord and forte piano originated from, as well as the upright piano.
Kinesiology is a complimentary therapy used to identify and correct internal issues to relieve stress, allergies, and pain. Being described as a complimentary therapy, kinesiology is not meant to be a cure-all for the patient, but a secondary method of increasing positive results of the original therapy; this method however can be used as a primary or secondary form of therapy depending on the results for the patient and satisfaction with said results. During treatment the doctor tests 14 different areas of muscles balance, these major muscles and how they react are believed to uncover problems that need correction which cannot be found with any other testing (Rude Health).
This pose induces a meditative state and permits you to search some balance and make your mind calm. Also, it motivates both mental and physical relaxation. It is also an excellent chance to take a deep breath and set an intention or take an occasion of gratitude for your practice.
The good news is poor posture can be easily corrected, which will redirect the forces applied to the intervertebral disc. The bad news is a lot of people have poor posture.
Playing the piano require great mental focus and coordination which could be the reason behind why people who plays the piano so well becomes highly intellectual.
“Sometimes I can only groan, and suffer, and pour out my despair at the piano!” a quote from Frederic Chopin. Similar to Chopin, a copius amount of musicians utilized their instruments of choice in order to express their emotions or feelings. During the Baroque Period both the clavichord and the harpsichord reigned as the most popular keyboard instrument of choice. However, by the end of the Baroque Period the piano had replaced both keyboards as being the most popular and widely used (Verotta). The piano has been derived from the harpsichord and the clavichord which had evolved continuously through the combined effort of keyboard makers.
There are many aspects on the study and meaning of kinesiology. Some of these ways are; applied kinesiology, kinesiology medicine research, and specialized and energy kinesiology. The study kinesiology and massage therapy is believed to go hand and hand. Many will say that without the proper knowledge of kinesiology and muscle movements, you can not provide a patent with all that is needed for a proper massage. As we approach new years, many individuals are increasing their concern in health. With the healing arts increasing in popularity, individuals don’t understand the need for well-rounded therapist. Who are trained in the science of kinesiology, which includes the technique of massage to enable them to be proficient in their field.

As human beings we are very active creatures. It is very rare we sit absolutely still with no movement at all, in fact to do so would be considered strange in most social contexts. These movements are not however sporadic, they are in fact highly controlled, practiced skills. Even when remaining relatively still, for example, to rest or sleep, we have still been taught the required skills to do so, whether it’s how to sit on a chair or lay on a bed, these are very ordinary, everyday techniques that we take for granted and perceive as something natural, but often they are technique’s we have been taught to do.
Does the seat still feel comfortable after you've been sitting in it for 30 - 60 minutes? If the seat is made from foam then continuous use can cause it to become deformed and then it will not provide cushioned support. Insufficient cushioning and inappropriate contouring can cause discomfort and hip and back fatigue. Is the tilt of the seat adjustable? In some situations it can be helpful to change the tilt of the seat pan to help to maintain a healthy seated postu...
There is a model axis that should be identical to the gravitational force between the human body and Earth that is located through the center mass of the body. Accordingly, the human body is perfectly aligned as far as joins and bones go. Often in yoga practices, the COM (center of mass) is vital as it is the
Yoga also improves your alignment, both in and out of class, which helps prevent many other types of pain. The exercises in yoga focus on posture whilst sitting or standing, and these really can prevent back pain or injuries.
