JFK's Unforgotten Accomplishments John F. Kennedy is arguably one of the best presidents that America has ever brought into office. As the youngest president to ever be elected, at age 43, JFK immediately proved himself to be a great leader for the United States. JFK's enthusiasm, sureness, looks and charm won his election as president, as well as his zealous determination to help change America. Before JFK stepped into office, he had goals set for the United States, and accomplished nearly all of them. From planning to put the first man on the moon, to safely handling one of the biggest threats to America; it's safe to say, he was a well-liked president by most. One of JFK's most remembered accomplishments was the Cuban Missile Crisis. Never before had the US experienced any serious, life-threatening nuclear afflict. During the Cold War, the US and the Soviet Union both deployed large numbers of nuclear weapons that could destroy international ranges. As scary and nerve-racking as the situation might have seemed, JFK had to act swiftly and in an orderly manner, to protect millions of lives. Although tensions arose, Kennedy's calm, strategic mindset and the actions put in place to help improve future communication on both countries' behalves, helped ease the tension between the two countries, and avoid World War III (http://www.pbs.org). JFK also did not allow his military's opinions influence his decision regarding the missiles being placed in Cuba. Kennedy is not only recognized as one of the best presidents that America has ever brought into office, but was also an important figure within the Civil Rights Movement, and was an extraordinary leader for our country during one of America's most difficult times. JFK outdid himself, and most definitely proved himself to be a great leader for the United States. People remember Kennedy mainly for his fondness, and the way he inspired people with his intensified speeches, charm, and sensitivity. Before being handed over office, JFK had goals set for the US, and nearly accomplished all of them. Although, JFK's devastating assassination in 1963 tended to overshadow his major and significant accomplishments during his time in office; JFK's accomplishments were deserving of his lasting memory because of his iconic role in leading the Civil Rights Movement, and his leadership during one of America's most threatening times, the Cuban Missile Crisis.
