John Fitzgerald Kennedy, also known as JFK, was born on May 29th, 1917 in Brookline, Massachusetts. His parents were Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy and Joseph P. Kennedy, Sr.. JFK was named after his mother’s father John Francis Fitzgerald. JFK is one of seven children. He went to college at Princeton and Harvard, studying history and government. On September 12th, 1953 he married Jackie Bouvier. Together, they had four children: Caroline, John, Patrick, and Arabella. JFK was inaugurated on November 8th, 1960, becoming the 35th president; he was a Democrat. Kennedy had many accomplishments in his life. One of his most famous accomplishments was in 1960 where he became the 35th president of the United States. He donated his whole $100,000 White House salary to charity. He also became a senator in 1952. He signed the partial nuclear test ban, in order to limit the more powerful nuclear bombs. In more international terms, he made more security ties with Israel. He created the Peace Corps to help health care, farming, education, and construction in underdeveloped nations. Most importantly though, he led America through the Cold War. Being one of the youngest presidents ever, it was a very stressful position for him to be in. He was one of the most important American leaders then and now. Traits he possess are perseverance and teamwork. He persevered when he became the president in a close election against Richard Nixon. He displayed teamwork when he worked together with other nations to try to take down the Communists. John F. Kennedy had many eventful things happen while he grew older. Kennedy got his education by going to, The Choate School and Harvard College. After his graduation from, Harvard he joined the U.S. Navy and entered World War II. After his patrol boat sunk, he swam himself to safety, then going back to the sinking boat and sacrificed his life to save injured in the boat. However Kennedys brother, who had also been part of World War II died while, fighting in Europe, which made john “next in line” for political leadership within the powerful Kennedy Clan.

Roosevelt faced many adversities during his tenure in office, both domestic and foreign. Faced with a country in a deep depression and a global war, Roosevelt proved a proficient and skilled leader. Despite a few blunders during his administration, Roosevelt demonstrated his ability to roll into action and accomplish what needed to be done. Kennedy always saw the belief the people had in him. Everyone looked up at the family to see what they were doing and tried to do whatever they were doing. He acknowledged all the things he had to do and made it pretty clear that he received good respect from his voters. He gave power to the people. When people looked up at him, they saw how much he cared.
