Throughout the movie there were only a few things that Janie and Celie could somewhat relate to. One they were both forced into unwanted marriages, two they both lived like servants, and three they both ended up filling happy with how everything turned out. Janie and Celie both had unhappy marriages but the circumstances are very different. Janie was not completely forced into any of her marriages she could have said no but she wanted to give her Nanny some peace and married Logan then runs off with Joe. “Finally out of Nanny’s talk and her own conjectures she made a sort of comfort for herself. Janie finally get the man of her dreams, even if is only for a little bit, while Ceile gets her whole family back. When Janie came back to town the whole community thought bad about her, but Pheoby was the only one who asked her about what happened and Janie told her the whole story. Skipping to Janie and Tea Cake though, after Joe dies Janie finally finds freedom in one man and as he says, “Nobody else on earth kin hold uh candle tuh you, baby. You got do keys to de kingdom.” We can only hope there are still men this poetic around. Well they run off and get married, but their happy ending is not that happy. A storm hit and floods the area and Janie encounters a rabid dog, Tea Cake jumps in and saves her but gets bit in the process and Janie ends up having to kill him. So when she comes walking home from killing the man of her life she gets ridiculed, but the thing is Janie has found inner peace and does not care about them she is finally content with her life. Ceile, before she left Mister told him, “Until you do right by me everything you even think about is gonna fail” and everything he started to do was horrendous.
