There’s a name for being overly emotional, feeling other people’s emotions without being told, knowing things one would have no way of knowing otherwise, and being easily overwhelmed by negativity and public places; it’s called an empath. An empath is a highly sensitive person whose senses are more receptive to their surroundings than others. Empathy is an emotion that is felt by most everyone at some point, but empaths experience this feeling daily in the most consuming, possessive way. The life of an empath is a gifted one, but having this gift can also be tiresome, stressful, and often misunderstood by others who aren’t empaths. Being an empath is a very real thing, and it can be overwhelming, but with the proper emotional, psychological, and physical rejuvenation, an empath is able to regain strength and use the gift as an advantage instead of a disadvantage. …show more content…
