Having an education does not necessarily mean going to school for years in order to have a great job with a great pay. Of course going to college, and getting a degree can lead students to a well-paying job instead of having to settle for making minimum wage with only part time opportunities. College is about more than just getting a degree. It is something that plays a crucial part in future success. Although they did not go to school, they did have the experience to open the business, but lacked the knowledge necessary to manage their business. They took the risk because both of them saw a chance to open the business and along the way they have had to work twice as hard to maintain it. Watching them struggle, has taught me that it is important to go to college and get an education so that I won’t have to struggle the same way they have. My career choice is to become a pediatrician and someday be able to open up a clinic of my own. I choose this career knowing the pros and cons. I know that it can get pretty expensive but I am not going to let that stop me. I work hard enough to be in school because I choose to be there. My education is the reason I wake up at 6 o’clock every morning to work a part time job to pay for my classes. College for me is an investment and not a waste of
