Alan Wesoloski, the owner of Yoda.com, could be a millionaire. Alan bought the domain name in 1996 because his cat happened to be named Yoda. On the internet, Yoda.com is accessed approximately 15,000 times a day. My guess is that about 14,995 of those people are kids looking for information about the Star Wars character Yoda. A large percentage of those kids are seeking Yoda dolls, light sabers, or other Star Wars paraphernalia. Alan's web page, however, only has a picture of his cat and information about copyright infringement (for obvious reasons).
You don't have to speak to Jeff Bezos directly in order to obtain a license to sell Amazon.com's products. In fact, the process only requires filling out a few forms. Amazon.com has a fantastic Star Wars store that sells products related to the movie series, including a wide variety of Yoda dolls, posters, and other toys. Alan Wesolovski could right now be selling a few hundred Yoda products a day. I believe that if Alan had been offering such merchandise since Yoda....
Columbus was the first person to sail west of Europe. He believed that he reached Asia, but actually discovered the Americas. He sailed to Hispaniola, where he built the first European military base in the Western Hemisphere called “Navidad,” so he could find and store gold. However, when Columbus returned on his second expedition, Fort Navidad sailors had been killed in a battle with the Indians because they had roamed the island in gangs taking women and children as slaves for sex and labor. Columbus was an Italian who sought aid for a journey that would travel across the Atlantic Ocean in search for riches in the East. His support did not come easy as he was rejected by the courts of Portugal, France, and England. Ultimately, Columbus was able to gain authorization and funding for a voyage to begin in 1492 by the Spanish monarchs King Ferdinand and Queen Isabel. After starting the long awaited expedition in April, Columbus was able to reach the West Indies by October of that year. Upon encountering the New World, Columbus immediately claimed the land along with its natives for his Spanish sovereigns.
This paper will focus on a modern worldview that uses theories and other ideas presented by the great minds of the past. I will seek to explain why some philosopher’s ideas have become engrained in our thoughts without us even realizing they exist. My goal is to invert the title of this class, A Brief History of Imagination, by using imagination to explain why many historical events occurred.
There are many unanswered questions in this world. While it seems upsetting that we, as human beings, can not answer all the mysteries of the world, it is actually these mysteries that keep us happy. People are not meant to be able to explain every aspect of life; if we could then we would be a painfully jaded species. Ambiguity is what keeps the world spinning. Without unanswered questions there would be no research. What is NASA without obscurity? When conundrums puzzle us we turn to our imagination. Daniel Gilbert, in “Immune to Reality”, explains his theory of the brain’s psychological immune system. This, basically, is a person’s defense system against the dreadful things in life. When something goes wrong the brain automatically starts searching for positive views of the situation, “and as we’ve seen the human brain is one smart shopper” (Gilbert 216). Instead of staying unhappy the brain allows a person to rationalize a situation and move on with their lives. Similarly, the brain permits people who are ill-fated to make the best out of their condition. Sacks’ memoirists, in his essay “The Mind’s Eye: What the Blind See”, find ways to meet their full potential in life, even after being blinded. They use their imagination in such a way that they do not feel as if they are different than anyone else. Imagination encourages the diversity of religious beliefs, but may lead to the conflicts between people with different religious beliefs. The conflicts may be diminished if knowledge and imagination are integrated.

Creativity was one characteristic that Stalin and Hitler had in common. Both had artistic abilities and talent as well as possessing the ability to think creatively. Hitler and Stalin had artistic talent in their youth, however, Hitler continued to use his artistic talent and creativity while gaining power.
Learners have shown that the acquisition of knowledge is a two-input contribution were an individual must strive to make sense of fresh information by actively implementing prior knowledge to be able to understand a new subject. The reason why no certainty can be entirely drawn from imagination or intuition is because both ways of knowing base off their processing of information in the same way; with the help of previous knowledge the mind has already acquired somewhere else. Therefore ideas and thoughts that claim to be born out of imagination and intuition turn out to be a mere hybrid interpretation of previously processed ideas. Competition- Amazon has many competitors they are up against. They have the retail market competitors like Wal-Mart and Target, the online competitors like Ebay, and then various other businesses depending on the product category. For Jeff Bezos, he wants the business to focus on the customer (Bishop, 2013). While other businesses are distracted with trying to get ahead of Amazon, Amazon is focused on the customer and not the competition.

It has been rated as the largest online retailing company, in the entire world. It has close to three times the sales revenue that staples, Inc made as a runner up, in January 2010 (Shire, 2008).
Our minds as humans are very complex. Our brains are unique and have functions like helping us create memories and use our imaginations. Our imagination allows us to think of alternative endings for situations ultimately making them better or worse. When we expand our thoughts we sometimes change situations to the point where our mind overexaggerates what we were imagining. In some instances our imagination can stretch situations to the point where they become unrealistic. Imagination has the ability to overcome reason, as it can enlarge little fears or cause new ones.
