Humanity is neither an inherently good or evil species. Humans are not inherently good in the beginning, because the concept of good is something simply created in society’s opinion. However, a person is not evil either when first born, for they haven’t had the chance to make any decisions for themselves, whether those decisions are ‘right’ or ‘wrong.’ Some people say that humans are naturally good. These people may believe that “we are all created in God’s image by God to serve him (text 2)” and are therefore created to be good. Despite that, religion is a subjective belief of some and not all people. Are humans born with a particular set of qualities that define their character and how they are perceived in society? Are they born with the power to choose between good and evil?
