“Human life is a creation, not a commodity, and should not be used as research material for reckless experiments,” George Bush once said. What he means by this, is that human lives are precious and we shouldn’t do anything to change it, since we are people, not items (Samantha). Many people have different views about cloning but no one knows what it really is (Paula). Human cloning is the creation of a genetically identical copy of a human being or a human body part. (Nicolas). Cloning is propogate, an organism or cell, as a clone by a form of asexual reproduction. There are two main types of cloning known as therapeutic and reproductive cloning. If a cloned person gets in trouble with the law, are they given the same punishment as a human? Fifteen states in America have laws concerning cloning of humans. This problem was brought to attention by California legislature, who were the first to ban reproductive cloning, then they were followed by fourteen other states which includes New Jersey. (Stefano). Cloning brought low success rates when scientists tried to clone a human. Human clones have many flaws that scientists are still trying to correct. When parents try to clone children, sometimes their parental expectations are disappointed because the genome does not always transport the desired talent. Children who are cloned sometimes develop a different personality than what the donor wanted. People expect the clones to be perfect but they're not because of scientific issues. When the clone children grow up they start to develop desolate personalities. Desolate is when people are in the state of bleak and dismissal emptiness. They start to develop high psychological damage as well as social isolation from people of the outside world. (Paula). It makes it harder for the clone to make friends and have a social life. In the future of a clone’s life, if the clone was confronted with an older version of itself it can also lead to psychical damage and identity problems. (Samantha). The success rate for cloning ranges from 0.1% to 3%. Out of that percentage, 98% have health issues. (Stefano). The cloning process has still not been perfected by scientists, so therefore it is not safe since many of the clones that have been created have issues regarding their health
