How Technology Affects Us Socially

Technology has evolved greatly thru-out the past 30 years and it has helped some of our everyday problems. Technology affects our daily lives in everything that we do, it saves time and makes traveling to halfway around the world easy. Technology reduces the time it takes to perform everyday tasks. Things such as doing your homework or doing the dishes have been reduced from hours to twenty minutes with the invention of the computer and automatic dishwasher. New technologies have even reduced the time it takes to read books when you can download the audio book off of any website including Facebook. At your jobs technology has even eliminated many of the hand labors of assembling parts and creating a very large quantity of product the very same way a human could do but, 10 times as fast, but how does technology affect us socially?

Technological items such as the GPS helps people get faster to places or get to places they have never been to, without getting lost since it will guide you all the way. This is great when you are in a foreign country. With the internet we have any kind of information at our disposal in a matter of seconds and anywhere we might be. We also have Facebook and other social media that help us not only communicate with people we haven’t seen for a while or that are far away from, but we can also find people that we haven’t seen or lost track of. Technology also can improve the efficiency of a factory by using machines to mass produce their product faster and more agile and free of error. Cellphones have created an easier way of communicating with other people for example before for someone to know about their loved ones on the go they had to call from landline payphone and when they left, if the family needed...

Many gamers often suffer from poor eyesight thanks to countless hours spent in front of the television or computers. To reduce your risk of strained eyes and neck, back and shoulder pain, take breaks every hour during your gaming or computer session. Every 20 minutes, blink 10 times by closing your eyes as if falling asleep (very slowly). This will help rewet your eyes. It is also recommended to adjust the display settings on your television so the brightness of the screen is about the same as your environment. Reduce interior lighting by using fewer light bulbs or fluorescent tubes, or use lower intensity bulbs and tubes.
