Psychological studies insist that melodic tunes potentially affect the brain as well as mental activities. The need to express emotions using musical talents exists in human nature, such as how a child relaxes by listening to lullabies and creating commotion. Not only does music affect a person’s mental health, but music’s nature also proves to aid in calming habits as well as creating an outlet for children with mental disorders like ASD, Autism Spectrum Disorder. Along with the nucleus accumbus, music also alters the amygdala. The amygdala influences the portion of the brain responsible for emotion and decision making. The study's results confirms that music inspires decisions and the way someone expresses emotions. The effects through music on the brain as a whole also applies to the memory. When reading or processing music, the melodies improve memory. For instance, it disturbs the frontal lobe of the brain, the lobe responsible for memory, which relates to when a song gets stuck in someone’s head. Repetition of a certain song or piece engraves that melodic line into someone’s head; nevertheless, it showcases how musicians memorize musical pieces.
