Healthy work environment improve quality and safety of patient care. Today’s healthcare environment is stressful. Workplace negativity is associated with diminished communication, increased stress, decreased productivity and compromised patient care. It is important to create a positive healthcare environment that emphasize on patient focused care stressing on positive emotions, positive language, and positive actions. This involves work productively as a team, thinking and acting with optimism and using a mindful approach to create an atmosphere favorable to healing, safety, and satisfaction for both patients and healthcare workers. A positive work environment will also benefit the healthcare workers includes, better mental, emotional, and physical health, better job productivity, creativity, innovation and engagement. Positive workers are more motivated, optimistic, resilient, and have better scoping skills. Reducing negativity can decrease conflicts, exhaustion, medical errors, absenteeism, job turnover, and burn out. Employees who have a more positive attitude about their hospital work environment, less often complain and blame others, have fewer conflicts and more satisfied with the work environment and are more fulfilled and committed to their job.
