4. Hypothesis: If the gummy bear is put in a cup of nail polish remover overnight, then the gummy bear will decrease in size because it will disintegrate by the nail polish remover’s strong ingredients.

Our hypothesis was only half right. While it did decrease in size, the original gummy bear was 2.2 cm tall, 1.3 cm wide, and 1 cm deep when after the experiment it change to 2 cm tall, 1 cm wide and 1 cm deep, the mass increased. The original mass was 2.4 g and increased to 2.8 g. What I think happened was that the main ingredient in the nail polish remover removed some of the gummy bear, changing its shape, while the other liquids got absorbed by the gummy bear. The main ingredient, acetone, is a solvent, causing the breakdown of the gummy bear. Many lapses could have occurred in our experiment. One experimental error was that when filling the cup, varying liquid measurements could have occurred. Another error was trying to pick up all the pieces the gummy bear lost to accurately measure the mass. I learned that the main ingredient in nail polish remover is very potent and can break down materials very easily. One question I had was: Why didn’t the nail polish remover remove the coloring from the bear? Another experiment I would like to try is concentrating the acetone and adding lacquer
In the 1st day it showed that the gummy bear put in vinegar was getting bigger but over time the gummy bear in water grew even more bigger as the gummy bear in vinegar started disintegrating slowly, and parts of the gummy bear started falling off.

About 1 gm. coarse powder was weighted and transferred to a 500 ml conical flask containing 100 ml of water. It was maintained at moderate boiling for 30 minute on water bath. It was cool and filtered in to a 100 ml volumetric flask. Volume was diluted by adding sufficient amount of water. The decoction was poured in test tube, and then shaken in a lengthwise motion for 15 seconds. They were allowed stand for 15 minutes and the height of foam was measured to determine the foaming index.
The mixture was poured through a weight filter paper and Sucrose washed with a 5ml of dichloromethane. The resulting solid was left in a breaker to dry for one week, to be measured. Left it in the drawer to dry out for a week and weighted it to find the sucrose amount recovered amount.

Overall, this career is important to our society because nobody wants bad ice cream. And no one by ice cream the company will have to cut back. This then will cause people to loose their jobs. Then the unemployment rate + poverty will rise. Finally our country will fall and become a waste land (that escalated quickly). I think this career would be good for me because I will be making money doing something I love (eating).

The cocoa liquor is then combined with sugar, vanilla, and cocoa butter to make what is now known as chocolate (Healing Foods Pyramid Par. 15). Controversy over the health benefits and detriments of chocolate is slowly subsiding, but there are many things that a lot of people still do not know about how chocolate can affect ones health.
