As the Director of Recruiting at Grocery ABC, it is important that the company attracts employees who are dedicated to the company with excellent customer relation skills and strong work ethic. In order to attract the right candidates, Grocery ABC must appeal to our target market. Consider our target market the same group of candidates currently employed by groceries noted in Fortune Magazine’s “100 Best Companies to Work For”. They are: (a) Nugget Markets (b) Wegmans Food Market (c) Whole Foods Market What these companies have done that Grocery ABC has not yet launched, is market themselves as being dedicated to their employees, which in return creates happy and loyal employees. 2) Compare the benefits valued and desired to those at the current top three grocers. It is important to consider what ABC is going to implement not soley based on the employee survey, but what has demonstrated success for other grocers. Part of the success of the other grocery chains is attracting the right employees. Therefore, ABC needs to determine what benefits best suit the current employees in addition to a desirable pool of employees. 3) Make changes to our benefits program, outlining attractive benefits and market them to the right group of candidates. The Grocery ABC website needs to be updated with a strong launch that emphasizes our mission to customer service as well as the support we show our staff. 4) Last, ABC must add quantifiable methods to determine that we have a strong pool of employees who feel valued at ABC, and have excellent customer service skills. The methods used to measure these results will consist of a semi-annual employee satisfaction survey, optional customer service surveys for customers with an incentive of 15% off their next shopping trip, and data demonstrating the turnover rate in six month increments.
